A/N WARNING MAJOR TDOTL SPOILERS AHEAD
One thing that really bothered me after tdotl was Sanguine's death. He was meant to be the bad guy and he was my 2nd fave bad guy at that (after Springheeled Jack). So I liked him as a bad guy then he died. For Tanith. I felt so sorry for him that he died for Tanith even though she didn't love him. So I thought, maybe she did love him just a bit? In no way do I ship Tanguine (My OTP is Ghanith) But I just wanted to write this for Sanguine's death
*Private chat between Ghastly and Tanith
Tanith: Hey Ghastly.
Ghastly: Hi, whats wrong?
Tanith: How do you know somethings wrong? Just cuz I like fights doesn't mean somethings always wrong. What if I just wanna go on a date
Ghastly: Do you?
Tanith: Yea but...
Ghastly: See there's a problem
Tanith: Somethings bothering me.
Ghastly: What?
Tanith: Sanguine
Ghastly: What has that bastard done now
Tanith: I don't think I've told you yet. Sanguine saved my life
Ghastly: By fighting his psychopathic urges?
Tanith: No I mean seriously saved my life Ghastly. He... he loved me. He jumped in front of the White Cleaver to save me. He loved me and died for me and I never even loved him back.
Ghastly: Tanith don't worry about it. You have me now
Tanith: I feel so bad you know? The last couple years of his life were spent loving a girl who was only with him because she was possessed.
Ghastly: Well it's not like anyone sane would like him
Tanith: I just want to tell him sorry. Sorry and I really hope he can find a girl that will love him
Ghastly: God that girl would have to be crazy
Tanith: Ghastly!
Ghastly: Sorry. I need help feeling empathy towards a sociopath
Tanith: Ghastly, he loved me. He died for me and I owe him for that. For that one instant when he sacrificed himself I meant more to him than his life. He would've rather died then lose me. And... and I never even loved him. At that point I was thinking about how to arrest him after the Darquesse mess was over. While he was thinking about what he could do for me.
Ghastly: I'm here for you.
Tanith: I love you, you know that. Compared to you, Sanguine is insignificant. But it's just bothering me that he loved me.
Ghastly: I get it Tanith, don't worry. I love you too. I would die for you too
