Kian couldn't help but sigh and lean back to the sofa. His hands clenched tight from nervousness were relaxed. He then reached out to the glass of milk on the table and gulped a few times to calm himself down.

A total of an hour had passed since the auction began if the several ten minutes of breaks were not included. A lot of unique items at first appeared and caught his attention. He also joined in on the bidding for a few times and got some useful items for hunting. Most of them were pretty useless for him though.

There was an absurd amount of items presented in the auction tonight that you would doubt it was still an auction. Still, only a few caught his eye.

"Maybe it's time to go? There's only a couple more items to show before the event ends tonight?" he suggested to Alexa who was tapping her finger on the table from boredom.

"I guess." she shrugged her shoulders. It was a boring night for her. She didn't find anything that was useful for her.

"Were going to present to you another item that was merely found by luck. Since there's almost no possibility to use this, the base price was reduced to a hundred thousand rune stones. Found within the ruins of the Star Sea Temple. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the one we temporarily call, the Deep Sea Chest!" Amanda declared.

Kian couldn't help but turn his gaze to the monitor. It was the first time she had said something like this tonight.

"T-this is?" his eyes widened into saucers.

The familiar chest, the engravings, and the crystals embedded into the metallic surface. It was actually the Treasure King's chest!

The indifference thet filled his eyes eyes a moment ago were replaced with excitement. If he could get the chest, then who knows what kind of great treasure he would once again acquire.

A few seconds later however, he quickly became anxious. He couldn't help but gulp and hope nobody else would bid on this item.

Alexa noticed the changes of his expressions.

"Do you know that thing?" she asked.

"I'll tell you later" he nodded and turned his attention back to the monitor.

"The minimum additional bidding offer would be ten thousand Rune Stones. Ladies and gentlemen, the bidding officially starts now!" Amanda announced, her hands were elegantly presenting the item on the table.

A few seconds later, no one placed a bid. Who knows what was that chest was for? Although there were quite a bit of collectors present in the auction, they really didn't put the chest in their eyes since they have already seen items more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes before.

Kian was delighted from this. Without thinking too much, he quickly placed his hand on the buzzer on the table.

"110,000 Rune Stones!" he calmly said through the intercom.

Quite a few people were surprised that someone actually raised a bid for an unknown item. They thought that no one would bid again but then a deep voice resounded out through the monitors.

"150,000" the voice that clearly came from a man said.

Kian couldn't help but scrunch his eyebrows. Someone also knew of the chest? He closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before he pushed the buzzer once again.

"160,000" he said.

"200,000 Rune Stones" the man said once again.

Kian's eyes turned cold and added another ten thousand.

Just like the last time, the opponent added another fifty thousand rune stones.

After a few more bout of exhanges, the auction from a mellow and peaceful one turned heated from the two's battle over the item. Unknowingly, the stakes rose till it reached half a million.

Right now, the other people were now quite interested in the item seeing how much the two spend so much money for this.

However, no one interfered. At least for now. Some of them planned to contact the winner after the auction and buy the information about the just. If it was valuable as the two made it out to be, then they try to give their best offers to get it.

Back on the privately room, Kian couldn't help but clench his fist tightly. He only had about three hundred thousand more rune stones. He didn't know if this guy would still raise another bid.

"K, Don't worry. I don't know what's inside that chest but I'll lend you some if you ever run short on money."Alexa held his hand as she assured him.

Kian couldn't help but feel warm inside.

"Thanks, A" he smiled and gave her a nod before his eyes went back from its previous seriousness.

"600,000!" Kian gave a crazy amount of bid.

"700,000" the man from before said in a calm voice.

"800,000" Kian once again said.

Soon, the stakes had been raised to an amount that reached a staggering million rune stones. Since he didn't have enough money, Kian was forced to borrow from Alexa. However, the man from before didn't seem to be willing to stop.

"A million and ten thousand!" Kian helplessly said. He didn't know how much he could go on any further.

Contrary to his expectations, the opponent didn't say anything after that. There was silence for a few seconds.

"Did he concede?" he wondered.

After a ten seconds, there was still no one who responded. Amanda already started to count. Finally, the item was bought by Kian.

Kian couldn't help but lean on the sofa from exhaustion. He just spent a million rune stones. He wondered if it was worth it.

A magic circle appeared atop the table. It glowed with a black light for a few seconds before it disappeared. On its place was the Treasure King's chest. He took it with a bitter smile and sighed.

"Let's just hope you can raise my stats like the other one." he whispered to the chest and stored it away.

"What was that chest for?" Alexa asked curiously.

"Let's go. I'll tell you on the way" Kian said and opened the door.

Together, they left Aether Auction and walked the streets of Boreas City. With quick strides, they got on the
Ultra-Fast Auto Carriage and sped away from the place.

The carriage passed by an dark street void of people. When Kian laid his eyes outside the glass window, he noticed a small object shine that made his eyebrows furrow.

"Careful!" Kian shouted.

He suddenly had a bad feeling and grabbed Alexa before he locked her into a hug. A few seconds later, a loud explosion occurred and the carriage was sent flying into the air.
