Kia didn't know when did he move. The next thing he knew, he was already flying to chase after the girl who continously haunted him everyday. The girl who left him.

She was fast. He almost couldn't keep up with her. Behind them, he could hear mad curses from some people. He looked back to see silver haired men with red eye crystals hovering on their heads.

Who were they and why were they chasing after her? Countess questions and speculations raced through his mind. However, he didn't speak but reached out his hand to grab hers instead.

"Aah!" she screamed and looked back.

The moment their eyes met, memories of the past couldn't help but surface into his mind.

It's that time of the year. December, 2999. The sky was wailing back then.

Kian stepped inside a café and hang his umbrella on the rack near the entrance. Feeling a little bit cold, he quickly sat on a nearby table and ordered a cup of hot coffee.

While he was waiting for the drink to slowly lose its heat, he couldn't help but sigh.

It's been days since he had seen Keiko, his girlfriend. She rarely replied to his messages and when he asked what she was doing, she said that he shouldn't bother. He was wondering if he did something wrong.

Keiko told him that they should meet at this place at exactly nine in the morning. He went thirty minutes ahead of time to reserve them a table.

"I don't know what should I tell him. I..." Kian heard a familiar voice. It was from the person he was just thinking about.

Kian couldn't help but look behind. When he did, his eyes instantly met with the eyes of the girl who just spoke.

"Kei-" he couldn't finish his words when his eyes landed on the girl who had her arms linked with a young man who probably just turned twenty or so.

All sorts of thoughts ran to his mind and he couldn't help but take a few steps back. It was only when he bumped into the table did he wake up from his stupor.

"W-what's this, Keiko?" he tried to smile despite it being obviously fake.

The black haired girl named Keiko smiled wryly at him and nodded at the guy beside her. She stood up and approached Kian.

"Hey Kian." she greeted with a bright smile.

"Y-yes? I mean, hey!" he tried to return the smile.

"I'm breaking up with you" her words made Kian flinch.

He couldn't believe she was actually speaking to him like this. Was she joking once again? He wasn't really amused with this one.

"N-nice joke. Haha!" he tried to shrug off her words with a laugh but noticed that she didn't laugh along.

"I'm not joking. See that guy over there?" she pointed at the man on the opposite table.

"I'm going to marry him" she looked at him in the eyes.

His breathing turned ragged and his hand trembled. Her words struck his ears like thunder. He couldn't even speak.

"You see, my Dad arranged our marriage. Well, it's not like I'm not really interested in him. He's funny, cool, and popular..." he didn't remember her words after that.

When he left the café and returned home, he was listless and didn't talk. Everyone who tried to talk to him received no reply.

Now, just a little bit more time and a year would pass. That memory was still fresh into his mind.

After Kian grabbed her hand, he took her into his arms and made a leap. With his agility combined with the force on his feet, they managed to speed up a few times faster than before.

Soon, they lost their pursuers. Who knows how many floors have they passed by. Kian didn't talk nor did Keiko.

Kian suddenly took a turn and saw a gigantic door. It was beautifully carved with designs such as celestial bodies like the stars, the moon, and the galaxy.

His stamina couldn't keep up anymore after a few hours of running. With a grunt, he bumped himself to the door.

"Wait, not this room!" Keiko suddenly screamed.

"Eh?" Kian was shocked and tried to stop his movements.

However, it was too late. The gigantic doors behind them closed and slowly disappeared. What replaced it were the walls of the room. It was only then that Kian knew that he had just screwed up.

With how dramatic this chapter was, I might as well just write a romance novel 😂 😂 😂.
