Pharaoh

"I'm good" I said to Jordan who asked once again, it has been two days and my body didn't hurt as much. Not to mention Nassiah took away my phone, I couldn't text anyone and nobody could text me. "Stop looking at me like that"

"Babe! Are you okay? Naylani told me to check on you" Omani said as she ran up behind us, she took her hand in mine and I couldn't help but give her a small smile.

"Yeah me and my dad's had a fight" I said shrugging off.

"Both of them? Damn king what you do?" Jordan asked but I wasn't about to tell him, one it's embarrassing, and even though he probably deserves jail I'm not the one whose fault it's gonna he he's in there.

"Nothing and leave me alone" I said pushing them back a bit than sped down the hallway, I didn't make it that far because I was snatched up by Jordan holding the back of my hoodie.

"Aye you can speed on Onion but not me!" He complained and threw his arm around me. "You sure you good bro? You had another attack or something?"

"More like every night, I'm gonna be okay though" I muttered as we walked through the class doorways.

"Are you going to the game tonight? Nays cheering" I thought for a moment I didn't really want to go but I mean, was better than being stuck at uncle D's house. More less I stopped talking to him too,I thought he sold drugs— now the more I think about it Nassiah probably wasn't killing people himself. By himself.

We sat down on our normal spots and I couldn't help but think of Layshon. I haven't talked to him in almost two days— what if he's mad at me? What if he leaves? What if he never comes back? I chewed my inner cheek not wanting to get myself worked up. Jordan side eyed me and I gave him a tight smile before resting my head in my hand. I'll just go see him after this class.

"Hey, my mom bout to get deployed again— you can always stay with me if whatever the argument with your dad's was that bad. We forever bro" he said finally and Maybe the night when it happened I would've took the offer, but I got it under control. What I don't? What am I gonna do with Omani?i mean I do like her a lot, I don't want to loose her- she'll hate me forever and that girl is bad with forgiveness even if she doesn't show. I felt as if my whole head was spinning- whatever the teacher was talking about couldn't keep my mind off things even if I tried.

"Thanks, I'm just gonna getsome fresh air, then I'll meet you guys at lunch" I said and although Jordan eyes stayed glued on mine with a serious look he still slowly started to nod his head, which was all I needed to burst through the front doors and sit on the step. I really just wanted fresh air, as kids ran down the steps past me happy to get out of the suffocating building probably wanting the same thing I did, but different reasons.I would be lying if he said he didn't feel a little bit bad for barking on my dad like that, my dad didn't do anything but what he always did— stand up for his husband. Of course Nassiah was none the less still my dad but I did still feel some type of way. I just found out he was living with a serial killer, but of course everyone in My family would normalize that too.

The boy was lost in a daze until he heard his name being called by a familiar voice, shit. He looked eyes and locked  eyes with Layshon. "PHAROAH COME HEA  REAL QUICK" many eyes now diverted back towards the boy on the step the towards the car.

By the time I got to the car and got in he had been calling my name he whole way,"What do you want?" I asked and his eyes showed nothing but confusion.

"First you ain't been texting me back, so I figured you're mad at me—so I was gonna buy you shoes and stuff but then I realized— that be mad sus, so I got you gift cards" he said before pulling out one to footlocker and then a bank card. "I'm really sorry baby" he said making my face heat up.
