"And...?"

"We have a potential match for you."

"Who is this 'potential' match?"

"Y/N."

"Y/N Y/L/N?"

"Yes, sir. An anonymous tip told us that she would be a good match, and that we should set the two of you up on a date---"

"How do you know about this? Who gave you the tip?"

"YO, PASS THE WEED!" Bucky yelled as he jumped in the air, landing on the couch with a big flop.

"Excuse me, what was that---"

"SON, I TOLD YOU TO STOP STEALING MY CROISSANTS!" Peter screeched at the top of his lungs.

"UNO REVERSE CARD!" Sam hollered.

"Sam Wilson was the man, sir."

Peter snatched the phone from Natasha's hands. "Hey, Cap! This is Peter and basically Y/N is in love with you and we all know you're in love with her too so goodbye have a nice day we love you so much so please don't kill us when you get back!"

"What---"

"Peter!" you shouted in the background. "That's not what I told you to do!"

"You never gave us any guidelines to go by," the boy shrugged innocently. "And it was about time that you admitted your feelings for him. It's been two years!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"He's so going to kill me when he gets back," you groaned, sliding a hand down over your face and falling forward onto the sofa before smashing your face into a fluffy pillow.

"You should be happy," Sam shrugged as he took a bite out of a croissant. "I mean, if Pete didn't do anything and work his matchmaking skills with Nat, then you guys wouldn't be getting anywhere since neither one of you is even daring to make a move on the other."

"Wilson's got a point," Natasha pointed at him, sitting down next to you and placing her hand on your head. "And we've all been hoping that something would finally happen between the two of you. Nobody here's afraid to admit that they ship it."

"I shipped it since the day I first met you, Y/N," Bucky admitted. "When I saw the two of you together, I just saw something click. It's a match made in heaven, man."

"Shut up," you mumbled into the pillow. "I don't wanna hear about it."

"Ooh!" Sam pulled his phone out of his back pocket when the buzzing sound alerted him of a new notification, peering at the screen. "Cap texted me and said he's going to be here in ten minutes."

You responded by proceeding to scream into your pillow.

"I presume you're excited for his return, child," he reached down to pat you on the forehead.

"I think he likes you, Y/N," Bucky admitted.

You also responded to that with more screaming into your pillow.

"...and I don't think he's going to kill you."

And more screaming.

"He's not going to kill you, Y/N. I honestly think that he really likes you and you should make a move."

You looked up at him once, with a dead look in your eyes as you spoke. "No."

Then you flopped back down and screamed into your pillow some more.

...

You heard the doorknob turn some time later, and Steve's voice speaking up. "Hey, Sam."

"Hey, Cap," Sam looked up from where he was now playing cards with Peter and Bucky to wave at him. Then he turned to where you lay, with your face still stuffed in the pillow. "Y/N, you awake?"

"No," you mumbled. "I wanna die."

You quickly got up, stomping upstairs to your room before slamming the door shut.

"Uh..." Steve pointed to where you'd just gone, "...is she okay?"

"New England Furnishing and Refrigerator Company, your local matchmaking service...does that ring a bell?"

"Oh, right," he snapped his fingers, "but why would she be so upset over that?"

"Maybe because I spilled the beans about how she has a huge crush on you, her bestest friend in the universe. And that you're in love with her too. Although," Peter scratched his forehead, pretending to look confused, "I don't understand why I'm not number one on that list."

Steve stiffly stood there for a moment, not knowing what to say as his cheeks slowly turned pink. "What?"

"Yep!"

...

About an hour of screaming into your pillow later, you came back downstairs, running a hand through your hair and looking around before deciding to get something to drink.

You pulled out the iced tea from the fridge and poured yourself a glass.

"So, I heard about some interesting facts from Natasha and the others," you suddenly heard a deep voice say from behind you, making you jump practically ten feet into the air and almost knock your drink over. "Was what they said really true? That you were in love with me or---"

"W-what?" you spluttered, almost choking on your tea, so you quickly set your glass down on the counter.

"She said something about you being in love with me, I believe," he repeated, smirking when he saw the blush appear on your face.

"Uh...what..."

"Would it make you feel better if I said that I felt the same way?" he offered, shrugging and putting his hands in his pockets.

Why did he, Captain America, the most confident person you'd ever met in your life, sound nervous all of a sudden? You didn't really know.

"I guess..." you mumbled, looking down at your feet as you leaned against the fridge and ran a hand through your hair. "I just, well, I never did anything because I didn't think you felt the same way. Cliché, I know."

When you looked up, his face was barely a few inches from yours, his piercing blue eyes making your heart pick up the pace and beat at what felt like a million miles per hour, hands on either side of your hips."Steve. What are you doing?"

"Proving you wrong," he stated, one of his arms snaking around your waist as he placed his other hand above your head.

"W-what do you mean," you stuttered. "Steve, how are you---"

You didn't even get to finish saying your sentence when you felt his lips on yours.

Initially you were surpised by his actions but didn't protest, letting yourself get lost in the feeling of him. It could've been hours, days, weeks, months, or even years until you finally broke apart but you'd never know, and you probably could've gone on for forever if it wasn't for three specific, overeager Y/N X Steve shippers.

"YEAH! LET'S GO CAP!" Sam whooped, clapping alongside an equally excited Bucky.

"Ah, I see my lessons have paid off," Tony smirked, crossing his arms as he observed your faces, which were both bright red with embarrassment.

"Shut up," you shot the man a death glare.

"I SHIP!" Wanda exclaimed, coming around the corner with Bruce and Vision.

"Same," Natasha agreed, suddenly popping out of nowhere with the rest of the team. "I think we all do."
