Unfortunately, the cop pulled up behind us, blocking us in, just as we were trying to unlock the doors. Damn it. "Fuck." Colby said in a low voice. The window rolled down on the car, and a sandy haired guy with sunglasses on appeared behind the tinted glass. "You guys do know what a lock and chain means right?" He lowered his glasses a little, like a douche, and stared at us, his gaze going from Colby to me. Oh HOLY FUCK. It was Randy...Nick's best friend and one of the cops who always helped cover up everything he did to me. "Well, well, well...look who came back to town. What are you doing here y/n? Thought you were too good to show your face around here again." I stared into his eyes and every the old fear that I always had came back to me, swirling in my belly, making me nauseous. I tried to speak but the old fear formed a knot in my throat, restricting my air waves...or maybe that was the impending anxiety attack. Damn it. I had been controlling those so well lately. My breathing started coming in short little gasps, and I put my hand to my throat, willing it to open so that I could take a deep breath. Colby started around the car towards me. "Baby, just breath." Randy looked towards him. "You need to stay where you are." His voice was stern and douche bag 'I'm in control' tone to it. Colby ignored him and kept walking towards me. "STOP WHERE YOU ARE." Randy's voice rang out across the parking lot, as he opened his door to get out. I'm bent over, trying to ease the pressure that's in my chest, but I raise my head to see what's happening. Why is this happening? Why did I have to see him of all people? My mind flashed back to a night where Nick and his buddies were drinking out by the fire, while I stayed inside most of then night. I didn't like to be around them when they started drinking. They got mean. I went outside because Nick was calling for his extra bottle of Crown that he kept under the sink. I took it to him but I tripped on the way, and the bottle flew out of my hand. Nothing happened to it. It landed on the grass, perfectly fine...but Nick blew up. He started yelling at me, calling me all sorts of nasty names, getting my face, shaking me. He put bruises on my arms that night from the forced of his hold. Then when I started to go back into the house, he threw a beer bottle at me. It didn't hit me, but crashed into the house, busting right beside my head. Randy just laughed during the whole thing, encouraging him, telling him how stupid I was, and that he needed to 'train' me better. Said that he had to teach him how to throw so that bottle connected next time...My breathing got faster thinking about it, but Colby had reached me by then. He wrapped his arms around me tight, and started whispering calming words into my ear, ignoring Randy's warning. Randy was out of his car by then, standing almost next to us. "You son of a bitch, you think you don't have to listen to the law? I told you to stay where the fuck you were." Colby turned his head towards him with a stone cold glare. "Shut the fuck up. Can't you see she's having a panic attack?" Randy just grinned nastily. "You always were a weak little bitch, weren't you y/n? Because of you, my best friend is in prison...just because you couldn't handle doing what you were supposed to do for your husband." I felt Colby's arms lock around me and his body stiffen. Oh shit. The panic attack was trying to subside, my breaths coming in longer pants than before. "No." I said, gripping Colby's arm. I looked up at him, and he met my gaze, rage flowing through those blue eyes, darkening them. Regardless of what he said, Randy was a cop. We couldn't do anything without risking getting arrested. Colby couldn't risk it. His career was on the line and I was pregnant. My hand went to my belly, my eyes still locked on his. His gaze followed my hand and softened just a bit. He nodded slightly at me, then closed his eyes to calm himself. "Are you arresting us for something?" He asked Randy, slowly bringing his eyes back open to look at him. Randy smirked. "I should. Just for being a pompous little fuck boy who thinks he's better than me. What the hell is with the blue hair? and the rings? No wonder you couldn't handle Nick, y/n. This guy looks like a little bitch." Oohhh Randy was really trying to get Colby to attack, to push him to his breaking point, so that he would have a legit reason to arrest him. Please, please don't let him do it Colby. I gripped his arm tighter, my nails digging into his skin. Colby glared at him and bared his teeth. "Are you arresting us for something or not?" Randy drew his bottom lip into his mouth, staring at us, his gaze going from me, then back to Colby. He let his teeth graze over his lip before a wicked grin curved his lips. "Not this time. You're free to go. No more trespassing." He turned to get in his car, but looked back over to me. "I'll be seeing you around y/n. I'll tell Nick you said hi. I'm going to visit him in a couple of days. I'm sure he would love to hear how you've been doing." He winked at me then got into his car. Colby staid still, his arms locked around me, until the car was out of sight. He let out a sigh of relief, laced with anger, and his body relaxed. He looked down at me again, his blue eyes full of concern, but the rage will still there, boiling just under the surface. I nodded. "I'm okay. I didn't know that it would hit me so hard...seeing his friends. I felt like it was happening all over again."
