Michael's Pov:

"I can't believe this sh!t..." I muttered as I took my usual spot on the steps behind the school building. Firkle, Henrietta, and Pete for some reason did not come to school today. None of them had an explanation to back up their lack of attendance, and now I had to stick through the rest of these pathetic seven hours with these posers and morons.

Reaching in my pocket, I took out my pack of cigarettes. As I lit one up with my lighter, I took a look at the sky. The sun made itself scarce as it slowly but surely hid behind the gray clouds. They seemed to become more visible as time went by. The color scheme of the sky left no room for the natural blue, for it barricaded the norm and replaced it with vivid, dull darkness.

I placed the cigarette in between my lips.

Just looking at the sky nearly brought a nonexistent smile on my face. To look at something that clearly represented this conformed place we lived in was breath taking. An exhale was released and a long string of smoke blew past my lips. I wanted to stay out here for just a bit longer, but I knew that soon I would have to get back inside the building of hell. Not because the bell was about to ring, I couldn't care less about that ticking time bomb.

My eyes found their way to the ground and noticed a few drops.

I gathered my things and went to stand up when I heard rustling near the gate that led to the front of the school. I focused my hearing to listen to the commotion. Just conformists... typical. As I was on my way to get back inside, I heard a voice from the gate. I assumed that they were calling out to me. I pulled the cigarette out from my mouth and turned my head.

There stood a girl clinging onto the gate, her (color) eyes beamed in my direction and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Great! I have your attention," she giggled, "I'm in the middle of a predicament here. You see, uh, I'm hoping to make a new club for the school- something cool and exciting for the students here, and normally you would need an advisor, which I already took care of-"

At this point I began to drown out the words from this poser. She continued to ramble on about this damn club and I grew tired of listening to her. I tired to think of where I have seen this girl before but it was not clicking. Oh well, nothing gained but I lost the little patience I had left. I took another hit from my cigarette.

"-And I thought that the location would be awesome there, but now this leads to the predicament I was talking about. See the thing is... I need members. About ten would do! Only so that the club can finally take its place and touch the hearts of the students in the school." A goofy and unnecessary smile stitched on her face.

Oh, put my damn near dying corpse in a coffin and throw it down a f##king river. Was this kid serious?

"So what do you say? Join my club and become a voice for the peop- huh? Hey!"

Yeah, I was not going to join that. I started to walk back inside and she should do the same thing before something literally rained on her crappy parade. In my head I thought that she took the hint and left, but I still heard her voice. Something along the lines like, "voices live on against the walls" ?? Whatever.

Later on that day, I minded my own business as I walked down an empty hallway. Well, what looked like an empty hallway because as I turned the corner, I came face to face with a redheaded monitor. The kid laid his palm out and gestured for my hall pass.
