Gaius didn't seem impressed like he did the other times Merlin had talked about his power. "Then, by now, you should know how to control yourself!"

"I don't want to! If I can't use magic, what have I got?! I'm just a nobody, and I always will be. If I can't use magic, I might as well die." Merlin shouted letting his pent up anger and lost be released. Knowing he had gone to far he turned of his heels storming to his new chambers and making use of the door by slamming it.

Gaius was quick to follow with his medical basket. He sighed coming to stand in front of Merlin saying, "Merlin? Sit up. Take your shirt off." Merlin complied removing his shirt revealing his battle bruises from Arthur.

They sat there lost in their own thoughts for sometime, but there was a question that kept running in circles in his head. "You don't know why I was born like this, do you?" Merlin asked Gaius looking towards him for comfort.

Gaius could provide none this time shaking his head replying, "No. I'm afraid not." Gaius graves some medicine and applying it to the bruises to help with the swelling.

"I'm not a monster, am I?" Merlin asked sounding a bit haunted. This was the question the one that kept him up at night and made him wonder about his worth in the world.

Gaius pauses what he was doing looking into Merlin's eye. "Don't ever think that." Gaius told him firmly.

"Then why am I like this? Please, I need to know why." Merlin begged, he needed to find his reason he needs to find the thing that would drive him to do what he hope was good.

Shrugging Gaius says, "Maybe there's someone with more knowledge than me."

Merlin shook his head defeated he had turned to Gaius trying to trust him in hopes that Gaius would return the trust and have some answers. "If you can't tell me, no one can."

Leaning back Merlin watched as Gaius poured something in a bottle. He handed it to Merlin patting him on the back. "Take this. It will help with the pain." Merlin nods consuming it. He grimaced at the taste before falling on his bed searching for sleep to his disappointment he found none.

Finally after hours of trying Merlin was on his way to dreamland. The train seemed to be broken because a loud whisper broke through all hopes of getting to sleep. "Merlin... Merlin..."

Quietly groaning Merlin pulled himself out of his bed he slipped on some shoes making his way silent out of his room. He walked cautiously around the object in Gaius's chambers knowing one wrong move and he would have to head back to bed listening to the silent cries for him.

He got outside and into the square undetected. "Merlin..." He heard once again, he took a few turns letting his magic guide him towards the voice.

He came upon the Wrought Iron Stairway and began the descent down stepping lightly so anyone down there wouldn't hear him coming. He reached the end of the stairs only to find some guards 'guarding' a tunnel but were actually playing a dice game. Using his magic he sent the dice rolling away from the tunnel. Distracted the guards got up and followed the dice curious as to how it was moving so far on its own.

Once they were out of sight Merlin scrambled into the tunnel grabbing a torch to light his path ahead. "Merlin... Merlin..." he heard again this time it was less of a whisper helping Merlin tell he was close to where the voice was coming from and now he had a pretty good guess of who it was.

Merlin walks into a ginormous cave its beauty unknown to both men and women. "Merlin." the voice laughed, but still Merlin had no face to put with the voice to.

Merlin looked all around using his torch to help light up the area. "Where are you?" he asks not believing he couldn't find the voice. It belongs to someone very old and powerful, Merlin felt he could not miss someone like that so easily.

A gust of wind made Merlin took a step back burning out his fire. A great big golden dragon lands on a rock before him. "I'm here!" he declares. "How small you are for such a great destiny." The Great Dragons voice was an odd on. His voice seemed to be in Merlin's head but also out loud. He held out some letters like how kids would imagine a snake would talk. His voice was refined and powerful. The echo from the cave made it sound stronger.

"Why? What do you mean? What destiny?" Feeling that finding the owner of the voice had only brought up more questions than answers.

The dragon grinned at him saying, "Your gift, Merlin, was given to you for a reason."

Merlin was filled with so much hope and desire with just those few life changing words. He wanted more than anything to find his purpose. "So there is a reason."

The Great Dragon nods. "Arthur is the Once and Future King who will unite the land of Albion." he informed Merlin.

"Right." Merlin said inconvenience and unsure what the prattish Arthur had to do with his destiny.

"But he faces many threats from friend and foe alike."

"I don't see what this has to do with me." Merlin said annoyed.

The Great Dragon chuckled, "Everything. Without you, Arthur will never succeed. Without you, there will be no Albion."

Merlin was surprised to say the least. He wanted nothing to do with Arthur and most definitely did not want his so called 'destiny' to be forever entertained with his. "No. No, you've got this wrong." he argued hoping beyond hope that the dragon was just teasing him.

"There is no right or wrong, only what is and what isn't." The Great Dragon corrected shaking his head.

"But I'm serious! If anyone wants to go and kill him, they can go ahead. In fact, I'll give them a hand." Merlin tried to correct defending what he felt was his honor. He hated Arthur even though they had only met him twice he knew he couldn't stand someone so cocky and rude.

The Great Dragon lets out a loud laugh the should've alerted the guards and make the ground shake but neither of those happened. "None of us can choose our destiny, Merlin, and none of us can escape it." he spoke wisely giving a fairly good argument.

Merlin shook his head in denial. "No. No way. No. No. There must be another Arthur because this one's an idiot."

"Perhaps it's your destiny to change that." The Great Dragon suggests. The dragon was done talking stood hop and flew upwards and out of view.

Merlin watched him go be for noticing that he hadn't really helped Merlin a that much. He only seems to help clear up a few things. Causing more stress, and creating more problems. "Wait! Wait! Wait, stop! No, I- I need to know more!"

A.N: I seemed to have already given up and am just creating the story based off the script I'm using to help me. Also a reminder that I don't own no Merlin nor its script and amazing words. I'm hoping the deeper I get into the story the less I'll have to use the original script in the chapters ahead.

Issue number three: When writing in another's point of view do I still refers to her as a girl or a boy? What do you think?

3b. Would Kilgharrah know Artura is a girl? And if he did how would he refer to her?
