Finally he had reached the Spiral Staircase that lead to Helen's room. The guard said that just up the stairs and across the Balcony Corridor there he would find an embroidered door that was the room Helen would be staying in.
Merlin grasped the doorknob letting himself in without knocking. Glancing around he found the room empty so he headed to the center of the room where the large vanity table sat. Merlin set the potion down so it would be visible but couldn't be easily knocked over carelessly.
Merlin couldn't help his curiosity as he lifted up a paper finding a book with what should've been unfamiliar words. The book was effigy and extremely special and unique. Before he did get a closer look he heard footsteps coming.
Merlin scrambled to put the book down and cover it with the paper that was originally over it so it would look undisturbed. Just as he was finishing up he glanced behind him as Lady Helen walked towards him. Discarding the book he grabbed the bottle.
"What are you doing in here?" Lady Helen asked Merlin as he gave what he hoped was an innocent smile.
Merlin scrambled for an answer looking around for a good excuse until his eye landed on the real reason he was there. "An... I- I was asked to deliver this." He straightened out his arms towards her bowing his head a little.
As he is bowing he glances in the mirror to his left looking at her reflection but it wasn't her reflection it was a different lady that looked slightly familiar. Surprised Merlin left in a hurry.
Merlin walked backed to Gaius's place doing his best to keep his head down. He really wanted to talk with Gaius about what he had just seen. However, destiny had other plans.
Merlin wasn't the only one walking in the square of Camelot. "How's your knee-walking coming along?" Arthur asked from behind Merlin. Taking a deep breath Merlin continues walking doing his best to remind himself to lay low.
"Aw, don't run away!" Arthur whined. Merlin stopped his self-conscience telling him to keep moving and ignore the prince.
Unable to stop himself he asked anyways pulling himself into trouble. "From you?"
Arthur sighs dramatically glancing at his buddies. "Thank God. I thought you were deaf as well as dumb."
Merlin took a calming breath not wanting to do anything rash. "Look, I've told you you're an ass." Merlin started knowing that would get to him. He turned around continuing, "I just didn't realise you were a royal one. Oh, what are you going to do? Get your daddy's men to protect you?" Merlin said not wanting any interference this time.
Laughing, he turned to his knight friends nodding for them to back away. Arthur figuring he could handle Merlin on his own. "I could take you apart with one blow."
Merlin scoffed unimpressed, "I could take you apart with less than that."
Arthur actually looked a little impressed challenging Merlin, "Are you sure?"
One of the knights stepped forward placing a hand on Arthur and shoving in a little towards Merlin saying, "Come on, then."
Merlin glances around as the adrenaline begins to soar through his blood. He threw off his jacket getting serious now. A knight said something but Merlin ignored him.
Nodding Arthur said, "Here you go." Arthur threw the mace to Merlin holding his own. Merlin scrambled to catch the mace failing to do so. While Merlin was grabbing it Arthur was swinging his mace expertly.
"That a way." One of his knights shouted and Arthur rolled his eyes then gave Merlin his undivided attention.
"Come on, then. I warn you, I've been trained to kill since birth." Athur said judging Merlin as in experience and giving him a chance to drop out.
