Chapter Four

Artura groaned remembering about the feast tonight with the fancy special lady singing. "Fine but can I come with. You can pretend I'm trying out for the job and I get to do my test run with you." Gwen sighed but nodded.

As they walked there Artura made it a point to stop and help whoever she could. She didn't feel she could do it as Arthur, she also just wanted to make Gwen as late as she could so she did what she wanted.

Merlin walked towards Morgana's room. Gaius had asked him deliver some potion to help with her recurring nightmares. He was getting the castle memorized and only had to ask for directions twice. He walked through the Griffin Landing and up some stairs finally reaching Morgana's Chambers. Forgetting about the importance of knocking once again. Merlin just walked right in. At that moment Morgana walked behind her changing screen.

"You know, I've been thinking about Arthur. I wouldn't touch him with a lance pole. Pass me that dress, will you Gwen?" Morgana said suspecting it was Gwen because she didn't knock when she walked in just like Morgana had requested. Merlin looked around for the dress not knowing what to do.

He wondered if he should inform her that he wasn't Gwen but he didn't really want her to get the wrong idea. He already had one royal in his bad side no need for two. He found the dress heading over to her head bowed. "I mean, the man's a total jouster. And just because I'm the King's ward, that doesn't mean I have to accompany him to the feast, does it." Merlin places the dress on the screen turning around to give her some more privacy.

"Well, does it?" Morgana asked expecting an answer. Merlin could see how kind Morgana was kind and trusting asking her simple servant for advice.

So for Gwen he reached for a high note praying it sounded a little like Gwen. "Mm-Mmm."

Morgan continues onward with her little talk. "If he wants me to go, then he should invite me, and he hasn't." Merlin glances around desperate for away out without getting Gwen into any trouble.

Not sounded so confident as she said, "So do you know what that means?"

Once again Merlin let out a high pitch hum. "Mm-Mmm."

Morgana was confused since Gwen normally contributed a bit more. "Where are you?" she asked trying to look through the screen for Gwen.

Morgana standing on her tiptoes looks over the screen. Merlin thinking quickly grabs a clock hiding himself behind it and squeezing out, "Here." peeking out of the neck hole he saw that he was in the clear but kept holding up just in case.

Morgana sighs saying, "It means I'm going by myself." She sounded so proud and definante and all Merlin wanted was to get out and for her to show Arthur whose boss. He places the clock down heading towards the door to leave. However, Morgana wasn't done. "I need some help with this fastening."

Merlin turns and stops on his tracks. He had no idea how to get out this. Put him in just about any other situation and he could probably talk himself out or maybe use a little magic and poof he is fine but this, there was nothing he could do. Lucky for him a blessing from up above came, Gwen walked in the opened doers that Merlin had forgotten to close.

"Gwen?" Morgana asked confused as to why she wasn't already there in an instant like she always was.

"I'm here." Gwen reassure. Merlin spun on his heel to see Gwen and another girl behind her. Merlin hadn't seen her before granted he hadn't seen a lot of people around here. However, he had never seen a girl like her. There was nothing in the whole world that could compete with her beauty.
