"Stop Luke!" I laughed trying to grab anything I could to get him to stop. My hands found their way to his chest gripping at the fabric of his shirt as my face was pressed against him trying to muffle the laughter. I was panting by the time his fingers stopped moving and I looked up at him to see a very accomplished look on his face, but no I did not intend to just let him win

"You’re a dick head," I joked before bringing my lips up to his

He seemed to forget all about everything that happened before and focused on the kiss but thats exactly what I wanted him to do. I walked forward this time leaning him against the end of the balcony

"But you’re not winning this one," I said breaking the kiss and running back inside the hotel room

I heard his footsteps coming behind me as I hastily opened the hotel room door and ran down the hallways

"Jojo you don’t even know where you’re going!" Luke yelled chasing after me

"I’ll stop running if you promise not to tickle me!" I yelled back turning the corners of the hallway, I found the elevator and quickly pressed the button. I looked around for a moment and found myself alone, did I finally lose him? I watched the numbers next to the elevator that signaled what floor it was on move slowly up to my floor, but just before it opened, Luke came around the corner and had me in my sights. I was forcibly pressing the button now as if it would actually get the door open quicker, but of course his long legs stridded up to me in seconds

His strong arms wrapped around my body and lifted me up over his shoulder

"Luke put me down!" I said holding onto him so I wouldn’t fall down

"Oh my god, oh my god," I heard a girl say from behind us

He quickly put me down, but since I was facing the wall, I was still confused as to what was happening. I turned around to see the elevator doors opened and four girls staring at us with huge smiles on their faces. They looked like they were trying to hold in their screams which I was pretty thankful for, but they couldn’t hide the excitement on their faces. But as for myself, I was a little embarrassed since the only thing I was wearing was Luke’s t-shirt that ended at mid thigh considering the fact that we just got out of bed

"Would it be rude to ask you guys for a picture?" one of the girls asked

"Can we please have a picture? I can’t believe this is happening," Her friend added on

"Uh yeah sure," Luke replied as they stepped out of the elevator

"Sorry guys, I-uh I’ll take the picture because I don’t really look all that…presentable," I said awkwardly referring to the t shirt I was wearing

"C’mon babe you look adorable in my clothes," Luke said wrapping his arm around me to get me in the picture

Each of the girls took selfies with us and we had a little conversation of our own

"You guys are so cute together," One of the girls squealed as Luke held his arm around my waist

"That’s so nice to hear, the hate was getting a little too much," I blurted out on accident

As a music icon, I wasn’t supposed even address the hate because I was supposed to be seen as strong, but this time it just slipped out of my mouth. Luke didn’t even know that it was bothering me…until now that is

"Uh- sorry I didn’t mean to say that," I apologized feeling the tension start to rise between Luke and I

I looked up at him to find his smile gone at the words I spoke

"No we get it. There’s a lot of hate going on on twitter, but it’s all going to die down eventually. Everyone we’ll see how perfect you guys are together sooner or later. Don’t let it get to you please, you guys deserve to be happy," One of them said

The way she said it was so sincere and sweet, I can’t believe Luke and I had such amazing fans. Even though the hate was getting overbearing, just thinking about this moment made it all worth it. We said our goodbyes to them after another few minutes of talking and once the elevator doors closed, Luke had his arm over my shoulder as we walked back towards the hotel room

"I didn’t know the hate was getting to you Jo," He said rubbing small circles into my shoulder with his thumb

"I didn’t want you to…" I said quietly

"Why? Is it because you don’t trust me?" he asked

I could hear the hint of hurt in his voice as he spoke

"No, no Luke. I do trust you, it’s just that-" I began to say but stopped so I could figure out a way to form my words correctly

I trust him. I trust him with my life, but I knew what life he was living. Hell. I was living the same one. I didn’t think he needed even more weight on his shoulders because I know he goes through the same things everyday

"What is it?"

"I don’t want you to think that you have to take care of me. I don’t want to add more shit on your plate because of my problems ya know? I can handle it myself, I just word vomited out there for a second," I said

Once we were in the room, he closed the door behind him and took a deep breath against the door

"That’s the point of a relationship baby. We’re here to take care of each other. Even when we weren’t together, you still took care of me. I’m going to be there for you. If I had a million problems, you’d still be my number one priority. Believe me Josie. I love you," He finished, sitting next to me on the edge of the bed

"That’s what I’m afraid of," I admitted

My voice was so quiet, like my body was rejecting my confession

Love. Love is a terrifying thing. Especially when you’ve been fucked over so many times before. You let people in and they just let you down. But this was different, I didn’t want Luke to give his everything to me because maybe I’m the one who’s going to fuck it up this time

"Josie,"

He held my face in his hands as his blue eyes stared into mine

"I just don’t want to mess this up," I said

"You won’t,"

"How do you know that?"

"Because I love you and you love me too,"

"I mean, I love you, but I’m pretty sure you’re in love with Calum," I smiled trying to lighten up the mood

"Shut up," Luke laughed placing his lips on mine

Maybe I could do this. Maybe I won’t fuck this up. We’re different. Everything will be different. I just have to give it a chance.
