Tahi's POV

Full of books her bag weighed her down. Study and family seemed to be the only thing in her life. Or at least it had been. She had had such a bizarre day, a man she wasn't even sure was real warning her of danger. Tahi wasn't the creative type. Sure she constantly wished she was back home on a beautiful island with clear water but that was all real. A wish not the creation of an entire person.

Drowning in her own thoughts she hardly noticed what was around her. The school halls were mundane against her own thoughts. She wandered out of it and barely came to a stop at the road. She, after all, did want to return home.

"Hey, Tahi is it?"

Tahi looked up, only to be staring into those off-putting Crimson eyes. She froze to the spot, she would never expect the head brumby to be speaking to her. Even less so outside of school. Heat rose in her face then just about every other part of her body. He kept looking at her expecting something.

A question, he asked her a question. Her brain scrambled around trying to find something even slightly cohesive but ended up with, "Yes.... good."

He gave a smile in return, there was something off about it. It was like he was waiting for something. An impatient smile. Sure she had said something ridiculous but it was still a strange response. But Tahi couldn't linger on its strangeness when she was too busy admiring its beauty. His face didn't have a single flaw, that too should have made alarm bells sound in her head instead, it made her heart melt.

"Marcus," the single word uttered from perfect lips brought her back to reality "I don't believe we've met."

His lips seemed to be a beautiful ombré of red to pink as if a makeup artist had spent the time to detail them to blended perfection. His whole face looked like a painting or perhaps it was sculpted from marble, his skin certainly matched it. A milky white pallor. It made the red of his lips stand out even more.

Tahi didn't know where to put her eyes, she was staring at him too much. Suddenly she felt extremely self-conscious. He seemed just as surreal as the man with green eyes. Though everyone could see this one.

She stole another glance at him. He was watching her with an amused look on his face but he again was expecting something. A reply.

"I'm new," she spurted out so quickly it was probably one word.

His smile stretched out as he barely held back a laugh.

Tahi just looked up at him like a baby bird, baited and waiting for him to speak once again.

"Yeah umm, I knew that. That's most likely why we haven't met yet," he smiled as he spoke with sharp white teeth poking out from under those lips.

Tahi matched his smile wanting to say something not completely embarrassing, "I've seen you play plenty of times."

Mission failed.

In fact, it failed so completely it took a U-turn to most embarrassing, there it succeeded with flying colours. Heat rose in her entire body, sweat poured down her back, arms pits and forehead. Which made her look even more strange. First admitting to stalking him then sweating profusely from the forehead she wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

He didn't seem to notice though, the panic exploding inside her didn't translate. "My mate is hosting a party this weekend, the whole year level is invited," he looked into her slowly calming eyes, "that means you are too, only I don't have you on Facebook."
