Daddy Issues (Legends of Tomorrow)

"I haven't sleep in three days. How do women do this?" John moaned rubbing his eyes, his usually dark rimmed eyes darker than usual.

"They normally have help," Nate put in smiling at Zarina's big eyes, which got a groan out of John.

"Bloody hell mate, she is a handful. I've met demons who are easier to deal with then she is." John moaned, looking up at the chubby child who was softly cooing as she played with Nate's fingers. "Can you watch her, for like an hour so I can get some shut eye?"

"Wow, John Constantine asking for my help? You must be desperate." Nate teased. "Don't worry man I got you covered, go get some rest."

"Cheers," John muttered, giving Nate a soft pat on the back before stumbling out of the kitchen towards his room.

"I guess parenthood doesn't suit him," Charlie mussed brushing past John on her way into the kitchen.

"He'll get used to it." Nate spoke, bouncing Zarina up and down in his arms. "You're getting so big."

"I thought I was the only one who noticed. She was definitely smaller yesterday." Charlie agreed, as Zarina grabbed one of her long dark curls.

Zarina broke into a gummy smile, a loud cry of happiness escaping her tiny frame. Bouncing back and forth against Nate's chest she nearly toppled out of his arms when she swung forward, hitting Nate in the face. Surprised, and a bit stunned, Nate's grip loosed and Zarina tumbled towards the floor. Just before she hit the ground Charlie managed to grab her, face planting onto the floor.

"Bloody hell! Nate!" Charlie scolded, placing Zarina carefully onto the floor before flashing a deadly glare up towards Nate who was still stunned and trying to stop a flow of blood from his nose.

"You try holding a baby when she headbutts you. Damn it, I think she broke my nose." Nate muttered grabbing a napkin that was lying on the table.

"How she's just a-!" Charlie shouted gesturing to Zarina, expecting to see her where she had put her down only to see Zarina tentatively tottering her way over towards Mick.

"Nice look," Mick grunted bending down to pick up Zarina. "How's my Za-Za doing?"

Charlie, and Nate stared gobsmacked at the pair. "What?" Mick grunted, shifting Zarina on his hip.

"Right, I might not know a lot about you humans, but doesn't it take like a year for them to start walking?" Charlie asked, slowly picking herself off the floor.

"Yeah, and your point?" Mick questioned straightening Zarina's dress strap.

"She's only been here for a few days, and started crawling only yesterday. And John said her birthday is June 6th, that was only like a week ago. No human baby develops that fast." Nate concluded, the blood flow from his nose having stopped.

"Then maybe she ain't human."

"Dr. Heywood and Miss Charlie were correct in their assumptions. Miss Zarina is in fact not completely human." Gideon concluded displaying Zarina's bio-metric readings up on a screen behind the medical chair she and Mick were sitting in.

"Well then what is she?" Nate asked from the adjacent chair, voice slightly slurred from the pain medication Gideon had given him while his nose was reset.

"An shapeshifter, of sorts." A raspy voice spoke from the door way. A bleary eyed John was leaning against the door for support. "Just like her mother."
