"So you're the legendary Doctor eh? Don't look like much." I murmured, tracing my fingers along one of the railings surrounding the center console of the TARDIS.
"What..how..who are you?" He spluttered taken aback as he took a small step away from me.
"Just a girl who got stuck in this box of yours," I replied taking a step closer to him. "Your lovely box told me all about you."
"You mean the TARDIS? The TARDIS actually talked to you?" He mussed, intrigued the initial look of confusion, and well, horror, abated for now.
"Mind you she prefers to be called Sexy, but I'm not one to judge. But yeah, we talked. She was the only one to talk to after having been stuck here alone for who knows how long." I grumbled, running my fingers along the golden control board, feet scuffing the grey mesh floor.
"Hang on a minute. You mean to tell me you've been living in the TARDIS..."
"Yeah"
"...For an extended period of time, and I had no clue?" The Doctor quizzed, running a hand through his short spiky brown hair.
"I wish I could tell you how. All I know is that I was coming home from a club, it was late, I was very drunk, and I saw your box. My mobile had died, and I saw the words 'call box' I thought maybe there was a phone inside I could use to call a cab. I went in, and from there don't really know what happened, I just remember waking up to a loud noise and suddenly I was in a library."I explained trying to gauge his response. He just looked at me in silence, before giving me a little wave to continue.
"Well, I didn't know where I was, and I had no way to check, so I just wandered around. Found a pool, a room were the floor was literally made of lava, and a bunch of other stuff but no door out. Just when I was about to give up, and chalk it all up to some ridiculous alcohol induced dream I heard this female voice. She guided me to, what I can only say is a kitchen, and told me where food was. I thought I was going crazy, and that was before she started explaining everything. I had no choice but to take her at her word. That you're a Timelord, she's a time/space machine and you go on crazy adventures together."
"Hang on, I still don't get how she could talk to you. The TARDIS doesn't even talk to me. Do you have some sort of brain implant or something..." He mussed, finally stepping back towards me. His hands roaming through my hair in search of implant.
"I don't know, she didn't even try to explain it. Mostly I just listened to her, I felt kinda silly just talking to an empty room. But she did tell me why I'm here..."
At this The Doctor stopped messing with my head, and looked at me, a puzzled expression on his face. "Why?"
"Because you're lonely." I replied, blushing slightly "And she wants me to be your new companion".
"I am not lonely! Ya hear! I am fine!" The Doctor shouted, glaring at the strange center console, in response the TARDIS let out a very loud noise, a cross between a groan and a beep.
"She says you're lying," I mumble, not wanting to get in between this for lack of a better word, lovers squabble.
"I got that thank you...I don't know your name." The Doctor said, his frustration fizzling out in an instant.
"(Y/N) at your service," I informed, doing a mock curtsy as the TARDIS let out a low hum, turning me beet red. "That is so inappropriate," I hissed at the ceiling "He does not".
"I don't what? I don't like being told what I don't do," The Doctor inquired peering between me and the teal tube that reached all the way to the ceiling.
"Find me attractive," I muttered, looking away. I'd hardly met this man, and yet, after having lived in his house, and walked through his life for the past several days, it felt like I knew everything about him. "Her words not mine...I think I best be going. It was nice meeting you." Quickly, I try to brush past him, making my way to the doors that had eluded me for what seemed like an eternity.
"Hang on, wait a minute. Ya can't just leave me on that note." The Doctor blurted rushing to catch up to me, but I was already at the doors. I gave them a hard push, then a hard pull, but it was locked tight.
"Seriously, you're gonna pull that on me?" I chastised glaring at the control panel, all I got was a light hum in return. "Oh, someone better wash your mouth out with soap!"
"Okay, (Y/N), was it? It seems like the TARDIS has decided to play match maker, and doesn't seem keen on letting either of us out until she's satisfied, so will ya give being my companion a shot? Some crazy adventures, run into some aliens, save the world, what do you say?" He asked, outstretching his hand to mine.
'Well, this beats just sitting around all day in my apartment" I thought. "What the heck, let's give it a whirl."
A/N: Not my best work but I felt like getting Doctor Who fic out there, I'll probably rewrite this but for now we'll just leave it be.
