"John, you've got a package!" A loud female voice yelled, shocking John out of his drunken stupor.

"Oi, love not so loud," He slurred, knocking over an empty whisky bottle as he stood up. The world tipped for and darkened for a second before righting itself. Blinking, he managed to clear his vision enough to see Sara Lance standing in the doorway of his room holding a basket covered in a white towel.

"Woah, you are sloshed, how much did you drink? Did Mick challenge you to a drinking contest again?" Sara questioned peering at John as he swayed unstably on his feet.

"No-" John began to respond but was cut off by Sara thrusting the basket into his hands.

"I don't know how this got here. Gideon didn't sense anyone come on board the Waverider. And this was outside your door when I got up." She explained, making sure he had a firm grip on the basket before letting go.

"Oof, why is it so heavy?" He asked, pulling back the towel to look at the contents. What was inside sobered him up real quick.

Inside, asleep, was the smallest child John had ever seen. Her hands were balled into little fists under her chin, and her small feet were tucked up next to body. A small note was laying beside her. Shaking, John managed to place the basket down on his bed before grabbing the note. Trembling he opened the letter.

"What? What was in the basket?" Sara asked, walking over to look inside while John read the letter.

Dear John,

I hate to drop her on you like this but I don't have a choice. I feel my end drawing near and she deserves to know her father. Her name is Zarina, and she takes after both of us. Her birthday is June 6th. I hope that the initial aging won't be to much of an issue, but I know you can handle it. You handled me after all.

Love,

Ulara

It took John several reads of the letter for him to take in just what it said.

"Jesus, John! What- when did you have the time?" Sara asked, taken back.

"It was a while ago-"

"No shit."

"Shut it- she was a fling. I was lonely. I didn't think it was going to go anywhere. It was great, and then she just left." John explained, running his hand through his hair. "Bloody hell, I'm not ready to be a dad." On cue, Zarina started crying. Her wails brought in Ray who had been passing by.

"Is everyone alright? I heard crying," Ray asked his brow knotting.

"John here is a new dad." Sara explained, gently lifting the wailing child and placing her into John's arms.

"I'm-not-Sara!" John protested, as Zarina continued to cry.

"All yours, Daddy," Sara teased patting John on the shoulder as she passed.

"Ray, mate. Help a bloke out eh?" John begged walking towards Ray.

"I'll go have Gideon replicate some baby clothes and diapers," Ray offered back peddling out of the room, as Zarina reached a new level of loud.

"Silentium et fugit," John muttered, and Zarina went silent, slipping back into a calm sleep. "Bollocks."

 Later...

Sleep pulled heavily on John's eyelids but a quick wrap on his arm woke him up.

"Hey man, hows it going?" Nate asked, grabbing Zarina off the table before she could crawl off.
