Premise: A soulmate AU where you have a watch on your non-dominate hand that counts down the time until you meet your soulmate. When you get close to meeting your soulmate your wrist heats up and then when the watch falls off it reveals the name of your soulmate.

As Lance walked down the busting boulevard he was stopped by a sudden burning sensation in his left wrist. Pulling back the olive green fabric of his sweatshirt, he glanced at the watch that he had be wearing for a long as be could remember. As he stared at it, the numbers rapidly began to count down until mere seconds remained on the illuminated face. Whipping his head around, Lance desperately tried to see if anyone else was having the same reaction as him. Suddenly a loud string of curse words rang out from the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. Glancing over, Lance just managed to spot a raven haired boy pushing his mullet like hair back from his forehead as the boy feverishly looked at his watch. Lance felt the searing heat of his watch increase as he looked down just in time to see the watch fall away to reveal the name if his soul mate in big, bright, red letters; Keith Kogane. Lance turned back to stare at the man across the street just as his own watch fell off. Keith raised his purple grey eyes and they locked directly onto Lance's blue ones.

Lance's mom once told him that when she had met his dad it was like a lightning bolt had passed through her.

But what Lance was feeling was nothing compared to what his mom had described. It felt as if his whole body was on fire, and the only way to put it out would be to get closer to Keith.

Keith must have felt it to, for the next thing Lance knew, Keith was looking both ways before hustling out onto the crosswalk in front of him. With every step Keith took, the burning sensation grew until Lance was sure he would spontaneously combust at any at any second. Lance was so entranced by this stunning man who was coming closer to him that he didn't notice the truck until it was too late. A loud horn sounded, jerking Lance out of his thoughts just as a huge, out of control semitruck closed in on Keith. Before he had a chance to even call out his name the truck ran through the crosswalk leaving nothing in it's wake but a large red smeer.

Shocked by the sudden absenance of heat, Lance flew backwards, pushed back by the very same force that had just driven over the crosswalk. As Lance lay on the cold cement he felt a large black hole close in around his heart as he stared up at the blue sky that was slowly turning red in the evening light. The sharp tang of blood was the last thing he smelt before the world faded to darkness. -Ending One

Lance bolted up in bed, a scream lodged in his throat. Glancing wildly around he frantically searching for the form of Keith in their large king sized bed.

"Keith! Keith!" Lance cried, digging though pillows, and tossing up the comforter until he found the mostly nude form of his soulmate. Keith's red spandex underwear were the only thing protecting him from the cool bedroom air.

"Lance, what the quiznack?! It's 2 am!" Keith growled, smacking Lance over the head with his pillow.

"Keith!" Lance screamed as he launched himself at Keith before wrapping his arms around the other man's chest while he intertwined his legs with Keith's.

"What's wrong?" Keith asked, blinking away some of the sleep from his eyes as he turned his head back to look Lance, who had tears spilling down his cheeks.

"Hey baby, what's wrong?"

"Just a bad dream," Lance murmured, snuggling his head into Keith's neck, breathing in his scent while Keith ran a hand through Lance's hair.

"Everything is alright now." -Ending Two

Alright if you have made it this far with out being hit hard in the feels congrats. But, this next section is even sadder than the first. Fair warning, there is pretty descriptive mentions of blood and death. Trigger warning for psychiatric hospitals.

As Lance lay in bed, two figures peered into his room through a slit in the door.

"How is he doing today?" Pidge questioned, pushing her glasses back up her nose as she finished walking over to the towering form of the head psychiatrist. Her long white lab coat russeling as she moved.

"Not good," Shiro sighed, looking down at Lance's chart. "We still haven't been able to get him to let go of the remains of the body. It's been four days and all he does is treat it like it's still alive."

"Quiznack. You haven't been able to take the remains away from when he's sedated?" Pidge asked, exhaling loudly, sorrow resting in her stomach like a stone. She hated soulmate loss cases.

"We can't. Every time we try, he attacks the guards screaming that he can't let them take away his love. We've already got three guys in the infirmary, including Hunk because of him. And to top that off, after every encounter, he forgets and goes back to thinking Keith is alive." Shiro spoke leaning his arm against the door as he stared into the room where Lance lay on the padded floor.

As the time in the room had ticked on, Lance became more and more entranced into the lie he had created for himself. And over time, Lance's once blue pajamas had become stained as he cradled the broken remains of Keith, the soulmate he never got to know. -Ending three
