They tell you, in the last moments when you know this is your end, your thoughts would zero in on just one thing.

Dev was slipping in and out of consciousness when he was taken out of the car and into the hospital.

He couldn’t make out the words around him. His lids felt heavy.

But when he opened his blurred eyes, he thought he had seen a woman’s figure before her eyes.

“G-Geet?” It was no more than a whisper, but the woman heard it.

She touched his hand, and he breathed out a rough exhale as he wished he could say something that would justify his actions towards her. Something, anything.

Nothing justified what he did to her.

A sorry was the stupidest thing he could say to amend his actions.

“S-sor–” this time his whisper wasn’t audible and he slipped back to unconsciousness as the woman before him crossed her hands to her slim body suddenly feeling alone.

Hearing the other woman’s name from your husband when he was fighting death wasn’t exactly mood lifting. Tara walked out of the ICCU and wondered where was their life going.

It was doomed the moment they went to Hoshiyarpur to spoil an innocent’s life.
