Calm the storm in my heart
before I begin to fall apart
I've slumbered through the pain
Expecting it to go away but I still feel the same

I have seasonal happiness
and permanent sadness
I predicted your detachment
I just believed I could've prevented it

When you said you loved me,
it lacked depth, didn't it?
We could've settled an arrangement,
but leaving us where we were
was your sign of giving up

It was all an act to you,
but the truth for me
I lived blind my whole life
when I had eyes to see,
A sweet fantasy induced with my insecurities.

Everybody has a scar or two,
mine has a face and name,
with an attitude.

I understand that you moved on
But the things you said,
and the memories shared
left some residue
and no soap will do.
