.:.Harry's POV.:.

It was here, in this very hotel, that I had met her.

"I notice you've managed to find these," I obnoxiously held up the bag of spicy kale chips, super excited see my favourite snack. "This kind is normally hard to find."

"You're absolutely welcome..." The beautiful girl paused. "Louis?"

Louis.

This person called me Louis.

She didn't know who I was. She apparently didn't know who the rest of us were, either.

The massive blow to my ego nearly caused me physical distress.

How did she not know my name? Did she not see my face every corner of the city? There was a One Direction billboard outside of the venue that's right next to this hotel. For fuck's sake, that particular time, mine and Poppy's faces and names graced at least three magazine covers.

"Actually, uh... I'm Harry." I awkwardly informed her of what I considered to be obvious.

Her face turned beet red, "I sincerely apologize."

After taking about a split second to collect herself, she continued,

"I uh... I'm sorry, I should have known that. Um, but the good news is, since you are Harry, is that your room is stocked with those chips as well. We just had a lot extra."

It took all of my strength to stop myself from laughing.

She clearly lives under a rock, I thought to myself.

"Well, thanks. It appears that the actual Louis has already wandered off. I'll be sure to properly introduce you next time..." I peek at her name tag, admittedly haven forgotten her name from her original introduction. "Wren, was it?"

"Yes. Great to meet you, Harry."

With that, she jetted out of the room, leaving me blindsided.

The truth is that I desperately needed that; somebody to come in and remind me that I'm not better than anyone else just because I auditioned for a reality show at sixteen.

It's easy to get lost in fame and fortune, and it certainly didn't help that Poppy encouraged it. To her, I was 'the' Harry Styles, and she was 'the' Poppy Winston, and we were the power couple of the world.

So fucking daft.

Poppy's arrogance was infectious, and I had grown tired of fighting it. Despite my best efforts, I was on the verge of becoming someone else just to make her happy.

But thankfully, there was a remarkable brown-eyed girl that humbled me.

It only took a couple of more interactions for me to become enamored by her.

Well, as enamored as I would let myself become, considering that I was still working on my relationship with Poppy.

Again, so fucking daft.

I remember how victorious I felt after coming up with the idea of her being Niall's PA. How happy I was when I saw her actually considering the job.

During that week, we had a radio interview, and while we were waiting for airtime, we heard a local news report about a murder trial.

Typically, I tune all of that out, but my ears immediately perked up when I heard her name. Thinking that Wren Brinsley must be a common name in the area, I shrugged. Then I heard a soundbite of her voice.
