NOTE: The epilogue is finally heeeeere. Frankly, I cannot assure you the date of the release of Book 2. BUT I’ll write the chapters ahead so I can publish them smoothly. It’ll probs be next year, though, because I’m very busy with school and it’s seriously killing me. Thank you to all of the people who stuck with this story even with the very slow updates on the finishing chapters.

Disclaimer: There are some parts in this chapter which I got from the Goblet of Fire. I'd just like to remind you that I don't own any of the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson characters. All credits go to J.K. Rowling and Rick Riordan.

*Hogwarts*

~3rd Person POV~

She was standing in the middle of a green, colorful meadow. The sky was bright blue, and the clouds were white and puffy, like cotton candy stuck to a blue wall. The birds chirped and rabbits chased each other around the meadow.

Shadow felt a light tap on her shoulder. She turned and saw Nico in the casual clothes he’d worn when they first met, smiling brightly, and a light color of red tinting his pale face. His hair was moving messily on his head as the wind blew.

“Hey,” Shadow greeted with a smile.

“You look great, Shadow,” Nico said, a light chuckle escaping his lips. Shadow looked around herself and only realized. She had been wearing an elegant, white dress. Her hair was braided and she had a gold plain crown on her head.

Nico, noticing that his beloved wanted to see herself, led Shadow to a nearby lake. Its water was as clear as shined glass. His heart fluttered as Shadow gave him a bright smile, thanking him for the small help.

She leaned in and observed how she looked like closely. She looked beautiful with the golden ring-like crown on her head and her braided hair. She looked like her mother, like a goddess.

Which wasn’t what she is.

Suddenly, all Shadow’s surroundings had crumbled. The meadow cracked like an earthquake just occurred and the lake broke like fragile glass. Nico had just disappeared into thin air. For about a second, all that surrounded her was pitch black.

And then after a blink, she had been able to see again. But this time, it wasn’t as pleasant as the first. Shadow was now standing in a land that was once a meadow, the ground rid of plants and grass. Dead birds lie dead on the ground and the bones of the rabbits scattered. The lake was now dried up and empty. The blue sky was red, like the color of blood. The clouds were gone and the sky was filled with crows. Her dress was ripped off at the edges, but her crown remained, as though untouched.

And to the left, Shadow saw Nico on his knees, a sword held up against his throat. Her eyes widened as she saw who was holding the sword.

Gaea howled with laughter and looked at Shadow straight in the eye. Then, happily, she slashed Nico’s throat fast enough that Shadow hadn’t been able to say a word. Nico’s body landed on the ground with a thump, now lifeless and dead.

“Nico!”

“Percy!”

Annabeth ran to the Poseidon Cabin, but her boyfriend wasn’t there. She had checked with all the other cabins and what she saw was the same. Percy was nowhere in sight.

He couldn’t be gone, Annabeth thought. Not him, too.

Annabeth remembered there was one more place she hadn’t checked. She ran to the nearby water form and saw Percy, staring out at the sea.

Percy, as if sensing Annabeth was there, turned and gave her a wave. He frowned as Annabeth ignored it and ran to him as fast as she could – which was really fast.

“What is it?” Percy asked, standing up. He gripped Riptide tightly and prayed this wasn’t a very big problem. Just Travis and Connor probably, he thought. Maybe they put something in Dionysus’s shampoo again.

Annabeth hugged him tightly and he felt her heart pounding in her chest. “What happened?” he asked again, Annabeth breaking the hug and looked at his sea green eyes with her stormy gray ones.

“It’s Nico,” she said, panic evident in her eyes. Percy’s head ached and he thought he felt his heart rate slow down.

“He’s gone.”
