Chapter 7: Tragedy Before the Tournament

*Hogwarts*

~Shadow's POV~

"Aww man," Ron groaned. "The Triwizard Tournament is only allowed to students with the age of 17 and up. And I thought it was my time to shine."

Hermione snorted at this statement of his.

"I doubt you could even shine, Ron," she laughed.

Ron scowled.

"Just because you're the smart one..." he muttered.

Harry, Percy, Annabeth, Leo, Frank, Hazel, Piper, and Jason yawned.

"Can we sleep now?" Leo asked, still yawning.

The others agreed, considering that it was already late.

"You guys go ahead," I said. "I don't feel like sleeping yet. I'll just walk around a bit and maybe I can follow you inside."

"But-" Nico protested, but I cut him off.

"I'll be fine. Just needed time to think and all."

He nodded, but did it hesitantly, and left with the others. I sighed and decided to go to the Astronomy Tower.

~Nico's POV~

What was she going to do? Will she be fine? What if she gets hurt? My thoughts swirled around. I was worrying alot for Shadow. Not just because I like her, but because I don't want to lose anyone else anymore. After...

A picture of Bianca appeared in my mind.

"You're worried about her, aren't you?" Percy asked, cutting the connection I had to my thoughts.

I nodded.

"Don't worry," Harry assured. "We are, too."

"So, we've decided-" Fred said.

"That we-" George said.

"Aren't sleepy yet-"

"And want to follow her," they chorused.

"All in motion?" Jason asked.

Everyone nodded.

"Motion passed. We are following Shadow Malfoy," Leo said in a business like manner.

"So," Ron said, "where do you guys reckon she's gone to?"

Ginny and Hermione looked at eachother with sureness in their eyes.

"If our calculations are correct," Ginny said nerdily, "she's off to-"

"The Astronomy Tower," Hermione cut her off.

"Why would you think that?" Hazel asked.

"She goes there when she's depressed, meaning, she needs some time alone. Although Ginny and I knew where she was going because we were asked to go to the Astronomy Tower to check on a telescope, once. When we got there, we found her," Hermione said.

"She didn't see us, so she doesn't know about us knowing where she magically disappears to sometimes. Hermione and I decided not to tell her, too. So she doesn't change places, you know," Ginny said.

"Alright, then," Harry said. "We're going to the Astronomy Tower. But make sure to keep your voices down and footsteps quiet."

Everyone agreed and followed Harry to the Astronomy Tower.
