Chapter 10: moments like this

Me and Hiccup were sat at the cove, Stormfly and Toothless were playing nearby. We laughed as Toothless gave Stormfly a gummy smile. Our feet were dipped in the pond as it was unusually hot.

On Berk it was rarely ever warm, even during summer, it could range from, damp, cold, freezing and pouring it down with rain. This was a rare occasion where we could actually look at the sun, we looked at the beautiful sunset in our view. It was so beautiful.

It had been two days since the 'Merida' incident. We hadn't spoken much about it. I think he felt guilty about almost burning me alive and mistaking me for dead.

We were cuddling close. I missed his soft arms around me. I leaned my head on his chest, listening to his heart beating softly in a calming rhythm

I twirled my ring around my left love finger and then realised something. The ring, I had completely forgotten about it, he had engaged to me whilst I was in my 'deep sleep'.

"so, Hiccup..." I started.

"hmm" he hummed. Looking out at the beautiful sunset, as the sun began to dissapear behind the hills of Berk.

"what's this?" I asked him lifting up my ring to show him. He turned around to face me.

"well, um..." he said scratching the back of his head blushing.

"I know," I said stealing a kiss.

"know what?"

"yes," I told him.

"w-what?"

"yes!" he seemed shocked, but then a huge grin etched across his face as he pulled me in for another kiss.

"I love you," he told me as we pulled apart.

"I love you too!" I replied smiling from ear to ear. He pulled me in again for another kiss, I deepened it, smiling through it.

"you'll never leave me right?" he asked me seriously, pulling away from our two minute make out session, he looked at me worriedly, his eyebrows furrowed, pleading for an answer. "you'll always be here, with me, right?" he asked me again.

"I will always be in here..." I reply gripping his hands and putting them on his chest, where his heart is. He chuckled, picking my ring up out of my hand and slipping it onto my left love finger.

"mine..." he said now stroking my ringed finger.

"... Forever and always," I finished holding my hands in his. He smiled again kissing me passionately.

"y'know, we haven't been on a date in a while m'lady..." he said breaking the kiss and stroking my cheek.  I leaned into his soft touch.

"we sure haven't Haddock," he chuckled. "then we should prepare one right away," he smiled at me through his emerald green eyes.

"but isn't this one now?" I asked him. He gazed into my eyes.

"Our date will be much better," he said standing up. He then held is hand out to help me up, this is amazing, so I don't know how anything could be better than this... "tomorrow, noon?"

"can't wait," I say gripping his hand and getting up. We then head home together. I wish everyday could be filled with moments like this...
