He's desperately trying to keep you from getting sick

Meanwhile, you're desperately trying to get him to feel better

Which includes gentle kisses and hugs and cuddling and just extra affection

It's a back and forth of him trying to get you to stay away and germ-free, then breaking under your gentle affections while you bring him a new ice pack for his fever or an extra blanket

He really doesn't mind you being extra affectionate; he actually loves it a lot

His flush from the fever can hide his blushing

He just doesn't want you to get his cold and he certainly doesn't want you altering your daily life to revolve around him

He's capable of getting up and moving around (as long as he keeps a blanket around his shoulders) but you continue to insist on making and bring his meals, taking care of simple chores around the house, and overall doting on him

Eventually, his worries come true

As his fever breaks, yours starts and soon the two of you have switched positions

Now he's the one doting on you and smothering with sweet German nothings and extra affection in hopes of keeping your spirits high
