Chapter two - I mean, sure, go ahead.

Tony sat down in his lab (he had lied about going to his room) and held his head in his hands.

"I'm so stupid. Steve is so stupid. How could he say that? Why did I even agree?" he said to himself. Suddenly the doors to the lab opened.

"Tony?" It was Bruce. "Are you there?" Tony looked up and softly said.

"Yeah."

"Ummm, what's wrong?" Bruce said startled to see Tonys face and then immediately regretted it. What was wrong was that Tony was stressed about this whole Steve x Tony (Stony) relationship and to throw a child right smack dab in the middle? Not the best solution.

"I mean do you want to talk about it?" Bruce quickly corrected himself. Tony looked up slowly as if to say. 'Does it look like I want to talk about it?'

"Ok? So no." Bruce thankfully went to his part of the lab and left Tony by himself. Suddenly Tony said.

"How old is the kid?" (Though Tony may act like he doesn't care about Peter. He does actually. A lot.)

"Do you mean Peter?'" Bruce replied looking up surprised.

"Obviously," Tony replied impatiently.

"He is eh, 2 years old. I think." Bruce replied slowly, the kid may be small but as a doctor, Bruce could see that Peter was definitely 2. Tony looked up at him in shock.

"2 years old? Why is he so small?" asked Tony worried.

"I was um, planning on doing a check-up on him. If that's ok.' Bruce said surprised at how much care Tony was suddenly showing for Peter. Tony immediately realising what he had done quickly muttered.

"I mean, sure, go ahead." Tony looked up slightly to see if Bruce had bought it but Bruce had resumed staring at the hologram in front of him. After a while, they heard JARVIS through the speaker,

"Sirs, Mr Rogers says that breakfast is ready."

Tony's stomach rumbled, he hadn't eaten anything since he woke up and he was starved. But he refused to go down. He didn't want to see Steve just yet.

Bruce arrived in the kitchen alone to see Pepper stationed next to Peter showing Steve how to feed him properly.

"Hi, Pepper," Bruce said, Steve looked up expectantly hoping to see Tony but looked down disappointed when he noticed the lack of his husband.  Suddenly Peter made a choking sound and threw up (once again) all over the plate Pepper had been holding, surprised she stared at the plate.

"Wierd, I only gave him one spoon and Fury said that he hasn't eaten all day. How can he be full?" Pepper said confused as she quickly stood up to clean the mess, Bruce thought about it and decided it was best to do the check up now.

"I um, think w- I (he was about to say 'we' as in Tony and him but he decided against telling Steve that) might have to do a ch-checkup. Like on Peter, I mean." Bruce said nervously looking at Steve, Steves' eyes widened.

"No way, Uh-uh. He is absolutely fine. He does not need a checkup. Nope." Steve said protectively picking up Peter and holding him to his chest. Peter began to bawl and started reaching for Natasha instead who was standing next to Steve. Confused Steve stared at the boy. Creases of worry appeared on his forehead.
