"Guys!" Maya shouts and we all look at her
"Is that normal?" She points to the tv and it shows helicopters surrounding the building.
"Dad" I look at him and that's when the first explosion hits
I go flying. Feeling scared and weightless until I feel a suit wrap around me.
Pepper picks up maya and I and flys us outside the house I get almost thrown down as the suit flys off of pepper and back into the house.
I wait in shock of what just happened. The scene still processing in my mind.
The only thing I could think about was tony.
All in one motion another explosive hits and our Malibu home crashes down into the water.
"Dad" I whisper still speechless about what has happened
I look around as police and firemen start arriving
The helicopters fly off.
I look around frantically looking for the suit to fly out of the rubble any second.
"Miss stark. Please come with us you have a cut on your head" a man in a uniform says
"No wait he's coming" I say staring into the water
I didn't realize i was crying until the man wiped my face with a towel.
"Ma'am please" the man begs me to follow him
"No. No Just wait he'll be here. Any second." I say shaking my head
My vision blurs with tears.
I fall to my knees watching for a sign. Something! Anything to tell me my dad is alive!
The man talks at me more but my thoughts zone him out.
"Please dad." I say sobbing
The man picks me up and sets me on a stretcher. I look at pepper who is talking to police she doesn't notice them taking me.
I lay back letting them take care of me.
I sit in my hospital room staring blankly at the wall.
I think of dad and all my favorite memories with him.
Reality hits and I can't contain my emotions anymore. I scream letting it all out. The tears come crashing. It should've been me not him. I need him.
I cry so much I fall asleep.
I wake back up to my door opening. I open my eyes to see Rhodey and steve.
Rhodey places down the news paper. The front page has dad on it. The headline says 'billionaire tony stark presumed dead'
"Y/n" Steve says sadly looking at me
"Hey guys" I whisper
"I'm so so sorry kiddo" steve says tearing up
"Have they found anything about dad" I ask and Steve grabs my hand
"Sadly no princess" he sighs
"Where. Were you." I look down not wanting to look at him
"Y/n I-"
"I tried to call you. Last night you didn't answer" I say angrily
"Listen y/n I am on a mission right now. I regret leaving you and letting this all happen right now but honey I'm so sorry. I-i won't let it happen again but" he says with a sigh
"But What steve" I say looking at him. Me calling him steve seemed to hurt him
"I'm still on my mission. I'll come back soon" he says sternly
And I watch him get up and walk to the door.
"I love you" I mutter with a tear rolling down my face
"I love you more" he says quiet but I still hear it
He leaves and i look at Rhodey.
"My favorite uncle" I smile
"How are you gorgeous" he sighs
"I'm fine. It's dad I'm worried about." I say grabbing his hand
"Y/n I know I am too but-
"Rhodey listen I know he's alive." I say
"What?" He says looking confused
"While Steve was in here I got a voice message from dad" I smile looking at my watch
"What!? Play it!" He smiles
I bring up the blue screen from my watch into the air and start tapping on it.
I press play on the message.
"Hey kid." He says making me smile as I close my eyes imagining him saying this
"I've got a lot of apologies I have to make and not much time to make them so here goes. I should've never put you in harms way like that. I let my anger get the best of me and it won't happen again. I know at the moment I'm presumed dead and for now let's keep it that way. You know I love you very much. Stay strong kid. Be good for Rhodey don't blow up his house" he says making me and Rhodey laugh
"Love you. And by the way-" the phone cuts out
"By the way what!" I shout wanting answers
The doctors come in and check on me. They say I'm healing fast and want me to go home!
Rhodey takes me out to his car and we drive off to his place.
Rhodey gets us fast food for dinner. While he's out I track where the call came from. Sadly no luck.
"So he's alive. And I love having you here y/n but this mandarin has everyone one edge especially the government. so iron patriot-"
"You mean war machine" I smile
"Yes- but that's not the point. I'm trying to say I could get called into work at any point" he says
"Oh okay. So I just have to be prepared to be alone" I nod
And like he said. That night Rhodey got called into work. I was honestly scared alone in his house so I go downstairs and watch tv for a while. Before I know it it's 3 in the morning.
I get bored with sponge bob so i grab my phone.
I call dad and let it ring for a bit. It goes to voicemail so I leave a message.
"Hey dad. I miss you and I hope you're okay. I'm fine, Rhodey is taking care of me at the moment. Steve uh came to see me, he left after telling me he's still on a mission but it was good to see him. Please come home safe, I need you dad" I sigh hanging up
I pass out finally.
I wake up no Rhodey yet. I make myself breakfast and watch the news.
A new headline pops up.
"Pepper Potts CEO of stark industries has been confirmed missing by Malibu police"
"Pepper?" I gasp
My day goes on. It's been stressful.
Next thing I know there is a loud knock on the door.
