Chapter 16

Peyton

It's now 8 and we got here around 1.. Kallie left a couple hours ago with Carter and some other friends of Lukes. I don't know.. I just can't leave him. He looks so helpless.

"Come on Luke wake up" I whispered while squeezing his hand.

Nothing.

"If you don't wake up then I'm gonna shave your head."

Still nothing.

"Okay yeah you're right. I won't shave your head but ill paint your nails."

Silence.

"Alright fine. Pink or purple?" I asked while digging around in my purse.

"Yeah you're right. Purple will go better with the color of your eye"

"Peyton?"

I jerked back and looked up to see Kallie.

"Jeez you scared me."

"What the hell are you doing?" She asked while laughing.

"I told him if he didn't wake up I was gonna paint his nails."

"Paint one a day. For everyday he doesn't wake up paint a nail"

"Hmm good idea but hopefully he'll be awake by tomorrow"

"Well i brought you a change of clothes. I thought you'd maybe wanna stay with him."

"Oh no.. I don't think-"

"You're staying Pey. He needs you"

I sighed. "Fine.. Do you mind telling my teachers that an emergency happened?"

"Yeah no problem"

"Thanks kal"

"Yep, well I'm gonna head out. Me and carter are gonna stop by tomorrow"

"Okay"

Kallie left and I sat in the recliner beside Lukes bed. I sighed. It's been like 8 hours since the accident.. Why isn't he awake?

"Still no progress?" Dr. Conrad asked while entering the room.

"Nope.. Is this normal?"

"Yes.. Like I said he'll wake up when he's ready"

I bit my lip. "Okay thanks"

Why do I keep saying thanks? He's done nothing for me except tell me Luke will wake up when he's ready. There's been no help.

"Luke stop being a pain in the ass and wake the hell up."

Still nothing.

I sighed and sat back in the chair.

"And Peyton?" The doctor said while peeking his head through the door.

"Yeah?"

"Yelling at him isn't gonna help"

2 hours later

I've been watching this stupid marathon of full house for a couple hours now. I just can't resist uncle Jessie. Luke hasn't woken up yet and I'm really starting to get worried. What if he's in a coma?
