"You know those movies where the main character completely changes her life for her significant other and then he stabs her in the back and betrays her and then her life is completely flipped upside down and she ends up sleeping in her car?"

"Goodmorning" Lauren says to me as she walks out of her room and into the living room
"Goodmorning" I say
"So you're not even gonna look at me?" She says
"..Hi" I say looking at her
"I don't understand why your mad at me"she says
"Maybe because I'm not" I say
"Yeah ok" She says
"Are you guys ready for the best road trip ever!" Nick yells as he walks out of his room
"Shut up!" Dinah says
"Hey Mani" Nick says as she slides next to Normani
"Hey" She says
"You can sit next to me in the car if you want, I made some road snacks" he says
"Oh cool" Normani says lifting her eyebrows

"Everybody hurry up! I do not want to be driving in the dark" Dinah yells
"Scaredy cat" Ally says
"Shut up smalls" Dinah says
"Hey" Ally whines
"Where are we even going?" Normani says
"Yeah" Ally says
"It's a surprise" I wink
"Eww" Nick says
"It'll be fun" I say
"Doubt it" Normani says
"Yes it will" I say raising my eyes
"Right of course sure fun!" Normani says
"Yep I'm excited" Dinah says with a straight face
And we all just stare at each other in silence waiting for someone to say something, anything.
"...You guys suck at lying" Lauren says as she enters the passenger seat
"Who's lying? Not me" I say opening the driver door
"I would never tell a lie" Nick says
"I lie all the time" Dinah says, "- but not today, today I'm an angel" she assures
"Whatever let's just go" Lauren says
"Hey what's this box back here?" Dinah asks
"It's probably just a package I forgot to take out, just give it to the door man" Nick says
"Ok" Dinah says

I had been driving for hours. It's was peaceful. Dinah and Ally were the first to knock out and Mani fell fast asleep against Nicks shoulder while they watched a movie together.
"Oh I thought you were asleep" I say
"Nope" She says staring at me
"What?" I say noticing her stares
"Nothing" she smiles. "..Thanks for this"
"Yeah of course, a road trip with friends never hurt" I smiled back
"Well you've never been on a road trip with us" she laughs
"What?!" I laugh back
"There's a reason I never invited them on the road trips" she says. "Just wait"
"It'll be fine" I laugh
