"You know those movies where the main character completely changes her life for her significant other and then he stabs her in the back and betrays her and then her life is completely flipped upside down and she ends up sleeping in her car?"

"Umm... no?"

"-Yeah that's pretty much how my story goes..."

"So about a week ago my boyfriend- sorry ex boyfriend cheated on me with my neighbor" I say.

***Flashback***

"Yeah I'm on my way to see him right now!" I say

"I'm so happy for you babe you haven't seen each other in weeks, but are you still sure about dropping out of school?" Normani says

"It's already done. Trust me Mani, he loves me, I'm making the right decision" I say

"Ok, as long as you're happy" she says

"I am. I really am" I say. "We're here, I'll call you later... or a bit after later. I have a feeling we're about to be super busy if you know what I mean" I say

"Alright y/n, I'll talk to you later" Normani says as we hang up the phone

"Babe I'm home!" I yell gaining no response

"Hello?" I say once again, hearing nothing

"Hey... babe what are-" Reese says

"I thought I'd surprise you"

"You're early... like really early" he says

"Yeah, hence surprise" I say smiling. "Now come over here and stop hiding behind the door"

"Ugh... Umm ok..." he says standing there

"Are you coming or?" I say

"No yeah I just ahhh" he groans

"Did you just moan?" I ask

"What no I just... I ahhh" he moans again

"Uhh....." Dinah says

"Yeah That asshole was cheating.... so anyways then a few days later I happened upon a small cafe"

***flashback***

"Ma'am... ugh ma'am" the barista says

"Oh sorry, just lost in my thoughts again..." I awkwardly say. "I'll just take the drink"

"Yeah Thank you" He says

I then turn around to the large bulletin board I always seem to look at when I'm at this cafe. I've only been here a few times and every time I come there are new flyers on the board.

"Hey." Some man says

"Hey" I say flirtatiously assuming he was flirting

"-if you find and take the band ad I will literally skin you for it." He says harshly

"Umm...." I say confused. "Ok"

Perks of living in downtown LA. Cute guys that turn out to be creepy psychopaths at every cafe!

"Hey, I'm sorry about him. He's just really serious about starting his rockstar career" a man says. "I promise I won't let him shank you or whatever threat he said"

"No it's fine. I'm used to it at this point" I say turning to face him. "And it was skin. He threatened to literally skin me if I found the band ad"

"That's a new one" the man says laughing

"Really, that's like the tenth time someone's said that to me today" I laugh

"Todd" he says introducing himself

"Y/n" I say back

"-Wait So you met a guy named Todd in a cafe?" Lauren asks

"Yep" I say

"Ok.. but how is that relevant to-" Lauren says before I cut her off

"Anyways" I say

***back to flashback***

"So Umm... were you looking for any specific ad or-" Todd asks

"No, I was just looking. I always just look" I say

"Oh cool" he says

"Yeah" I say. "Plus -I just caught my boyfriend cheating on me with some hoe and I'm basically homeless so in a kind of sad sense, this bulletin board is my only source of entertainment..." I add

I can't help but be awkward mostly all of the time.

"Oh... that sucks" Todd says

"Yeah he's a jackass" I say trolling down the board

"... Well hey look, here's an ad for an open room in an apartment downtown" Todd says as he hands me the ad

"Yeah but, I don't know. Accepting a room from a ad that I found at a coffee shop... They could be murderers or something" I say

"Can't be worst than being homeless..." he says

"True" I say nodding my head

"But yeah now I'm pretty much living in my car... I'm sorry, What was the question again?" I ask

"Uh.. What is your favorite color?..." Dinah says

"Oh, it's y/fc. It reminds me of one time when I-" I say

"-Ok so we're gonna have a group meeting" Nick says as he grabs his roommates off the couch
