SUMMARY
Layla Ezra, the youngest of 4 children- Kai, Brooke and Camila- watches each of them leave one-by-one for college. When the last sibling leaves, abandoning her with their workaholic parents, she withdraws herself as much as she can from the social eye. Distracting herself from the emptiness of the house, she buries herself into studying and books.
Instead of spending her nights with the rest of the kids on her street at the bonfire, or surfing the whole day away, she occupies her time with painting and studying. Gone are the late bonfire nights where Layla and her sisters caught up on all the latest gossip, gone also, were the early morning surfs with her oldest sibling and rock, Kai.
