When Howard saw Kat, he didn't say anything. He simply pulled her into him as tightly as he could, running his fingers through her brown hair and kissing the side of her hair.

"He's gone. I-I can't..." Kat cried into his chest.

"Shh..." he kissed the top of her hair, "I promise, I will do everything in my power to find him."

Howard looked up to see George and Laila, who both held sad expressions. He knew that George saw Steve as his son and Laila as one of her closest friends.

He looked down at Kat, knowing the woman he had lost to Steve Rogers was now grieving over said man's death. It was his job now to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and put them back together.

"I'll find him. Even if it's the last thing I do." Howard rested his head on top of hers, pulling her even closer into him.

True to his word, Howard boarded a boat to look for Steve

True to his word, Howard boarded a boat to look for Steve. Kat had pleaded with the man to come along, but he refused. He told her it would be better for her to stay with her father. He didn't want to bring her any false hope if he didn't come up with anything.

Howard looked out the boat, when one of the crew members called him, "Sir?"

Howard walked over to the man to see what he had found. An armature held the Tesseract.

"Take us to the next grid point." Howard instructed the captain.

"But there's no trace of wreckage." The man tried to reason with Howard even after the captain had walked away, "And the energy signature stops here."

"Just keep looking." He had to. For Kat.
