A sanctuary of thoughts

The sound of heartbreak that echoes through words

Why don't we take a step ahead instead of moving in circles?
We promised each an infinity full of love, we said our love was eternal,
But then why did our fights shake our room more than our love that built it together,
Broken glasses and your plaid shirt you left for me, is this how long is forever?
We took sides, we blamed each other for the mistakes never made,
I'm missing pieces that you took with you, my love for you feels betrayed,
Because you left me nothing, but pillows to cry on and an empty cold bed,
I keep on trying but I can't forget everything you said,
The first time when you kissed me under my favourite star,
When I was so scared I cried, you held me close, that night I realised I wasn't alone who had scars,
But now, we've changed, when you hold me close to you I know how far away we really are,
You don't smile when I show you the moon, sometimes I feel like I don't know who you are,
You took away half the colour of my sky,
You took away my stars, you took away my paper planes, I don't know how to fly,
There's nothing I can do, every time I try to forget you, I realise how much I need to remember you,
The way we danced when the lights went out and how you remembered my eyes are like the sunsets hue,
Time doesn't move ahead, and I roam in empty room full of memories,
That now haunt me, we've stolen something that wasn't ours, a beautiful treachery,
But I know you remember me and you sleep with my picture by you side,
I look out of the window missing you, and see you looking at me, right beside,
I try to write poems, they never make sense, because they miss two things,
Your love and the words that you write in your own musings.
