A couple of weeks pass, and things have started been different. I'm starting to notice that people are looking me a lot more, talking and acknowledging me in class and stuff, it is super weird. We are sitting at lunch and a girl and a guy came over and start talking to me.
"Hey it's Katie, right?" I nod.
"Yeah we were wondering if you'd like to come sit at our table?" I look around.
"Thanks for the offer but I'm happy where I am." The girl next to him pipes up.
"Alright sweetie I know you are new here, so you probably don't know the ins and outs of this place yet, but Dean is like the most popular person in school. You should really take up his offer." I stare at the ground for a moment contemplating. Popular people are approaching me? Like this is the most attention I have ever received in a lifetime. This could be an opportunity to see what life is like on the other side of the fence. Dean looks at me.
"One lunch okay? You won't want to leave you'll see..." I shrug my shoulder and stand up from the table.
"Okay sure, thanks." I mean one lunchtime. How bad could it be?
