summary : in which your boyfriend of two years surprises you at your surprise birthday party in your hometown in Ireland.

It was definitely not easy being in a long distance relationship.

Grayson living in California and you being from Ireland.

But you both maintained a strong relationship always taking turns to visit the other, calling and FaceTiming almost every night and sending each other letters and random gifts.

People always told you two it would end up falling apart, the distance being too much to bear.

But you both love each other too much to ever let each other go, even if sometimes it hurt that he wasn't there.

For example, your 21st birthday: a big milestone in your life, was only right around the corner being next weekend.

Usually around this time, your family and friends would be planning you a party but from what it looked like, they wouldn't be doing that this year.

They all continued to tell you how busy they are with their personal lives and how they wish you the best for your 21st.

Grayson also always made it a priority to come visit on your birthday and spend the week but he hasn't called or messaged you in the past two days.

"(Y/N) dear, I'm going out to the market, ill be back in an hour or two" Your mom spoke peaking around the corner.

"Okay mom I'll wait here," you smiled at her.

Little did you know she was off to plan something very special just for you.

The special day

The day had arrived and still no one payed the slightest bit of mind to you.

Grayson has basically ignored you for three days and you were having a rough time.

You woke up and everyone was gone, went to work where no one knew it was your birthday, and you ended up back at home at 5:00 p.m with tear streaks down your face.

Out of the blue your mom popped into the house, taking you by surprise.

"Oh my god are you serious (Y/N)?" She spoke frantically.

"What what?" You spoke quickly getting up and wiping your tears.

"Don't you remember it's your sister's engagement party tonight?"

Oh shoot. You completely forgot.

Your sister decided to plan her engagement party on your birthday, a plan that none of your family opposed.

You sighed and got up, rushing to get dressed and ready.

"Oh sweetie you look beautiful, this is such a big day for your sister," you mother beamed, oblivious to the fact that it was a big day for you as well.

The car ride to the hotel was silent, with just the hums of your mother in the driver's seat.

It took a lot for you to not break down and cry right there.

Everyone forgot, even Grayson.

Soon you pulled up into the roundabout of the hotel, a valet ready to park your car.

"I'll call your sister let her know we're here," your mom hurriedly took her phone out.

This hotel was special to you, it was where you first met Grayson.

He was walking down the lobby in a rush to get to his concert with his brother Ethan when he ran right into you, sending you flying to the ground.

When your eyes met it was as if something clicked and you both knew it. Then the rest is history.

As your mom finished taking on the phone, you wiped a stray tear, not wanting your mom to question what was upsetting you.

"There in ballroom C" she took your hand guiding you through the halls.

Upon arriving she opened the door and practically shoved you in.

About to ask your mom why she did that, a roar of voices screaming, "surprise," sounded in your ears.

Your eyes grew wide as saucers to see all your friends and family smiling at you.

Tears started to fall from your eyes as you grew overwhelmed with joy.

Everyone then came up to you congratulating you on your big 21 and that's when you noticed, one person was missing.

Grayson.

You were happy but you were also just as sad.

Noticing this your sister took her hands and held your cheeks.

"What's wrong sis?" Her eyes were full of concern.

"It's nothing, this is amazing you all are amazing, thank you," you wiped your tears.

She smiled and spoke lowly, "is there something missing?"

Her eyes then lifted from you and looked behind you.

There's no way.

You turned around surely and sure enough there he was.

Grayson was stood in the center of the dance floor, holding a big bouquet of roses.

You immediately ran up to him jumping onto him, not having seen him in almost two months.

"Grayson," you cried into his neck as he held you in his strong arms.

Everyone cheered and clapped, happy to see you happy.

"You really think I'd forget your birthday?" He held your cheek before kissing you passionately on the lips.

After he broke away he gestured to Ethan standing on this side.

"Also I brought him," he rolled his eyes as Ethan waved happily.

"Hi Ethan," you giggling going over to hug him.

The rest of the night you spent in Grayson's arms.

It was truly the best gift and surprise you could've received on your birthday.

I just finished bowling with my family and let me tell you I really suck.
