Chapter 2: Partners

Marinette's POV

"Marinette you're going to be late!"

"Coming!"

I rushed down the stairs holding my backpack. Ugh! My alarm clock didn't ring so I ended waking up at 8 am instead of 7.

It's already 8:53. 7 more minutes before my class starts.

I left the house not eating breakfast. I'm not hungry anyway.

I arrived at school. 3 minutes late ugh!

I tiptoed my way inside the classroom. Miss Bustier is our teacher for today, yeah she is nice but being late is a different story for her.

I was about to sit on my chair when I heard SOMEONEㅡ

"Miss Bustier, Marinette is late again!"

I gave Adrien a death glare. Seriously? He's starting to annoy me again, argh!

He is the most annoying ex-boyfriend I could ever have!

Well, duh, since he is my first boyfriend.

Miss Bustier faced me and crossed her arms. "So what is your excuse for today, Marinette?"

I scratched the back of my head.

"Umm... ahh... it is traffic..?"

Chloe burst out laughing. "Traffic?? Your house is just right across the street! What a funny joke Marinette."

I bowed my head down. This is so embarrassing.

Phew! Think positive Marinette! I might get akumatized because of this...

"Chloe... that's enough." Miss bustier warned.

"Ugh, sorry Miss Bustier," Chloe said.

I sat down on my chair next to Alya.

"As I was saying, you will be having a pair activityㅡ"

"YAY!"

"OMG YES!"

"Adrikins will you be my partner??"

I rolled my eyes. Hearing Chloe's voice makes my ears numb. -_-

"But! I will choose your partners for you."

Everybody started protesting and including me.

"Haprèle and Bruel... Césaire and... Bourgeoisㅡ"

"WHAT?!?"

I almost screamed when Alya slammed her hands on the table.

"Is there a problem Alya and Chloe?" Miss Bustier asked.

Yep, there is a big big problem.

"There's no problem if she will help me in the activity," Chloe said.

"Let me rephrase that for you. 'There's no problem if she will do it all!'"

"Hmm much better."

"Argh!"

Miss Bustier clapped her hands to get our attention. "Okay let's change things. Alya, you will pair up with Nino. And Chloe, do it individually."

"What?!? Me? Do it individually?? Do you know who you are talking too!? I am the daughter of the Mayor, André Bourgeois, and my daddy canㅡ"

"That's enough Chloe. I heard that from you like a million times. Nothing will change. Do it individually, okay?"

Chloe stood up and gathered all of her things and made her way to the door. "Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!"

"Ehem, moving on... Chiến Lê and Kubdel... Agreste and Dupain-Chengㅡ"

Wait, what?

My brain stopped functioning.

"Looks like we are partners."

*gulp*

"Y-yeah..."

Wait! What are we going to do? I didn't listen to— ugh!

"I'll come to your house. See you later, Marinette."
