whenever i try to write a poem about her
the words never come out right
but i keep tryingshe lives in the spring time
sparkling in pink and orange
her smile unashamed
and her laughter unending
as she prances under the sunseta rainbow of colors
live in her
and they pour from her
because she cannot hide ither freckles are kissed all
over her body
they are the stars
that shine forevershe never dones her face
with any cover
instead she choses to be exposed
not because she's over confident
but because she doesn't want pretend to be what she's nother hair is messy and tangled
curly and unreasonable
and beautiful
she never hides herselfshe lives in broad daylight
afraid to be seen
but brave enough
to keep standing tallshe is fire
and water
light
and darkness
spring
and fall
the climax
and the resolutionand i can't wait to see who she becomes
i wish to stand next to her
andthis poem sucks
i'll have to keep trying-From the Journal of Leo E. Lockharte
