Crimson.
Such a hauntingly beautiful color, but as of right now, I hate such a color, because they're the color of someone else's eyes. They aren't his. His gorgeous eye color is a deep, stormy grey that could pierce steel and tungsten just as easily as a nail can pierce human flesh.
This isn't him. There's no way he could ever hurt me. Not now. Not ever. Someone or something else is controlling him. What do I do? I don't want to die. I don't want him to die either. My love's hands, that I love oh so much, are around my neck, tightening with each passing second. He's way too big for me to do anything to get out of his grasp. He's always been like that. What do I do to help him? I need to get that thing out of him.
Breathe.
Breathe.
Breathe.
I blink over and over again, and each time I open my eyes, I see that smirk I love being used to taunt me. "You hybrids will never defeat me. Soon it will be nothing but pure blood beings, and then you and your God will fall." My vision grew blurry, and soon, darkness was all I could see.
Breathe.
As soon as I open my eyes, the auditorium comes into focus, and the principal looks at me questioningly. Oh. My valedictorian speech.
Shit. I forgot where I left off.
Multitudes of people stare at me, and I could feel my chest tighten. My heart thumps hard against my ribs. I look at my paper where my finger stopped. Thank god.
"As I said earlier, " I clear my throat and continue, "-you may like to live life in the moment without a care in the world, because life is short. But I ask of you today to be mindful of what you do in those moments, because they can have either good or bad consequences that affect you or, worse, the people around you. Pray to God and love the people who chose to stay in your life. Thank you, and we did it, guys!!" I finish with a bright smile.
My classmates and guests in the audience clap and cheer as I walk off the stage. I look up and see my English teacher from Junior year. He reaches for me and grabs my hand to help me down the stairs.
As I sat back in my seat, I couldn't help but think about that vision. It felt so real. The pain was nothing compared to the emotional turmoil. It was strange for me to feel so weak... which is something I am not. I have lived and worked on my own for years now and dealt with many issues. With me being a mixed supernatural entity, I've learned a thing or two about my powers, laws, culture, and how much my body can take.
"Congratulations, Class of 2023! Be wise and do great things. I believe in you, great young people." Principal Caleb shouts with more energy than I've ever seen. It's probably because he's retiring after our class. We weren't bad students; we were just boring.
Concerning his words, I definitely intend to be great as God permits me to, and that body-snatching creature in my future won't stand a chance.
Author's Note: I'm backkk. I missed writing so much. I have been in college, and it has taken up most of my life. My major is English, with an emphasis in writing, proofreading, and editing, and two minors in American Sign Language and Education. I get my Bachelor's degree in May of 2027. I'm happy to write again, but when I came back, I was surprised by all these fees. I also came back and found this entire story removed from Wattpad :( But I'm ready to write again. I can't wait to tell this story. It's been in the works since I was in high school in 2021.
P.S- I love all who read this, and I would love to hear any feedback! Also, I will add polls at the end of the story to learn more about you guys, or it might be about the chapter and what you would like to see more of! Love you bitch!
