Next, I interviewed Indie, who goes by the user name thefreakoffreaks. Mr. Popular and I is Indie's story, which has over 52 million reads as of this interview. I really like her work, and it's really cool that she has so many reads. Here's the interview:

Who is your favorite author?

Malorie Blackman

What inspires you to write on Wattpad?

Mainly boredom, it gives me something to do. Plus, it relieves a lot of my stress. Writing is therapy for me, and having people read and enjoy my work is a much appreciated bonus.

What was your reaction when you first hit over a million reads?

I kept refreshing the page, I did not believe it. Then I called my sister, and she started to freak out as well. And then I think I sent out like 5 messages, just thanking everyone who reads MPAI.

Did you do anything specific to get your book so popular? If not, why do you think it did so well?

I advertised my book for a few days on the 'share your story' club. But I don't think that's around anymore. Otherwise, I think it was just pure luck.

Is there a writer on Wattpad, or an author in general, who influenced your style of writing?

Not really, the first day I joined wattpad was the day I posted the first chapter of MPAI. But then I started reading other books, and I was inspired by people like northbynorth and lilhorse.

Can you relate to any of the characters in yoyr stories? If so, who and in what ways?

I can relate to Lea a little, because she and I share the same weirdness. And Flo's strength when it comes to something she believes in.

Did you ever think before your story became so popular that you'd be in this position?

Lol nope. I didn't ever think anyone would read my book, at all. that's why I was shocked when it started to kick off.

How did you find out about Wattpad?

I read a book called 'my wattpad love'. And I checked out the rest of the website, and the rest is history.

Do you have any advice for up and coming Wattpad writers?

Hope for the best, expect the worst. you're not going to automatically get 1000 reads on your first chapter. It's a slow process, so be patient, read a lot, make friends, and have fun - if you enjoy writing, the wait is nothing, eventually people will love what you write. :)
