I Burn [Todoroki x Reader]

Todoroki's POV:

Visiting his mom in the hospital became a daily occurrence for Todoroki, ever since his fight with Midoriya, he began to question a lot of things but it also made him want to stop hiding from his past and face them head on. Hence his daily visits with his mother.

Today was one of those days, after school, he travelled directly to the hospital with a small bouquet of flowers. Although, today felt different, somehow odd considering he had done this many times but something felt...off-was not the word he wanted to use but he couldn't describe it any other way. Even the nurses were acting strangely, they look at him with a smile like there was something they knew that he didn't and he didn't like it one bit.

He shrugged it off and thought of it as his imagination and continued with his goal. With flowers in hand, he politely greeted the nurses at their station and proceeded to his mother's room.

What greeted him was a scene he never expected, a girl was chatting away with his mother as she peels apples for her to eat. He was confused, he's never seen nor heard of her before today and quite frankly it unnerved him to see a stranger in his mother's room. Her presence however, didn't seem to bother anyone but him and his mother continued to talk to her with a smile.

It wasn't until Todoroki walked in that his presence was known, his mother greeted him with a smile and gestured for him to join them. He sat on a chair at the foot of his mother's bed.

"I'm glad you came by Shouto-kun...I want you to meet [Name]-chan...she comes by once in a while to keep me company." his mother explained as the plate of sliced apples found its way on her lap.

The girl turned to him with a smile and he swore that her smile was a sight to behold. His breath was caught in his throat, he seemed to have forgotten what words were and he found himself staring at the girl before him that he had completely missed what she said to him.

"Todoroki-san...?" she called out, snapping him out of his stupor. He looked down, slightly ashamed that he wasn't paying attention but when he looked back up, her smile was what greeted him.

"It's nice to meet you." he said as she handed him a plate of newly peeled apples, he gladly took it, quietly said his thanks and slowly ate the delicious fruit. He silently watched her continue the conversation with his mother but everything seemed to have been muted and his eyes kept finding its way back to the girl in front of her.

He couldn't help but to stare, he couldn't take his eyes away from the way her [H/C] tresses frame her delicate face, the way her lips move when she spoke or the way her [E/C] eyes twinkle whenever she tells her story. Never had he felt that way before, it was definitely something new and he wouldn't mind exploring it more, it was refreshing to say the least, pleasant even and he knew right away that this meeting gave birth to something wonderful and he couldn't wait to nurture this feeling to something more.
