Quintins pov
Today Sean was going to pick up Jace and Forest from the hospital. He was also picking up Chance!
"Alright kiddo's, I'm going to work. Uncle Mark will be over in a minute." Matt said
"Okay Matt!" Callum yelled
I hugged Matt before he left for work. I sat on the couch and watched TV.
"Hey Quintin." Mark said
"Markimoo!" I yelled running over to hug him
"Where's everyone else?" Mark asked
"Liam is napping, Dillon and Zach are outside, Eilyn is in her room playing with her dolls and Callum is in him room playing games." I told him
"Okay. Forest, Jace, and Sean will be here soon so can you help me get everyone in here except Liam because he's sleeping?" Mark asked
"Yeah, okay." I said running outsidse
"Dillon, Zach, Uncle Mark wants us in the living room!" I yelled
"Okay!" Zach yelled back
Then I ran to Eilyn's room.
"Uncle Mark wants us in the living room." I told her
"Okay bubby." She said smiling
Mark, Callum, Dillon, and Zach we're waiting in the living room.
"Alright, sit down." Mark said
Eilyn and I sat down on the floor in front of Mark.
"So, Sean, Forest, and Jace will be here any minute with Chance. Before they get here I need you all to understand that when Chance is with Jace he's working okay, and when Chance is working you can't touch him unless Jace says it's okay. So, when Jace and Chance come here what are we not aloud to do, Dillon?" Mark asked
"Touch the dog." Dillon said
"Zach?" Mark asked
"Touch the dog." Zach said
"Eilyn?" Mark asked
"No touching the puppy unless Jace says so." Eilyn said
"Very good job Eilyn. Quintin?" Mark asked
"Don't touch the dog unless Jace says so." I repeated
"Callum?" Mark asked
"Don't touch Chance unless Jace says I'm aloud." Callum said
"Good, you guys can go back to what you were doing." Mark said
I moved back onto the couch and watched TV. The door opened and instead of being Sean, Jace, and Forest, Alex walked in.
"Why are you here?" Mark asked
"I came to get my shit." Alex told him
Mark didn't say anything else. Alex walked into his and Callum's room to get his stuff. I heard a car pull in and then I saw Jace and Forest.
"Forest!" I yelled running out to give him a hug
"Hey little dude. How are you?" Forest asked
"Good. Alex is inside. He said he's getting his stuff." I told bubby
"Great. I missed you!" Forest said
"I missed you too!" I yelled
"Look at the doggo." Forest said
"Chance is so cute!" I said
"You can pet him if you want." Jace told me
Very gently I pet Chance.
Forest's pov
Quintin does so well with dogs. Jace even let him walk Chance inside. Soon we sat on the couch while the kids played with Chance. Mark and Sean we're out on the deck. It didn't take long for Alex to get Jace going though. Alex was still upstairs but I could tell Jace was either anxious or angry just thinking about him.
"Jace baby?" I asked placing my hand on his thigh
He jumped slightly while erbwas staring at the hall.
"Jace?" I asked again
"I can see him." Jace said
"What do you mean?" I asked

I watched Jace swuint his eyes and then all in one motion he was off the couch and running back the hall. Before I could even comprehend what was going on I heard Eilyn scream. I ran back the hall. There was so much going on. Mark trying to keep the kids away and hold the dog. Chance barking. Sean trying to get back the hall. Then there was Jace, Alex, and Eilyn. Jace had a stab wound right through his hand and Eilyn was just a few inches away from the tip of the knife. Blood was everywhere. Mark had called the cops. Alex had an evil look on his face.
"Well, it was meant to kill Eilyn but that works too I guess." Alex said
"Damn monster." Jace spat
"Oh now that's not very nice there Racesa." Alex said
How did her know Jace's birth name? Jace stood there confused and Alex brought the blade down again slicing Jace's arm. Eilyn was in a corner with her head between her knees and her hands over her ears. She looked terrified.
"That's right fag. I know your real name. Racesa Evelyn Marie!" Alex yelled
I've never seen Jace like this. I know I think k that a lot but this time... He just... He didn't even try to fight my brother. He just dropped to his knees and let Alex stab him again. Finally the cops showed up along with an ambulance. Chance broke his leash and ran in. He started rubbing against Jace and running around him. Finally the paramedics got through and they took Jace, Chance and Eilyn. The cops took Alex and the rest of us were left trying to make sense of everything. I picked up the phone and called Matt.
"This better be an emergency because in in the middle of-" I cut Matt off
"Alex went crazy." I said
"What?" Matt asked
"Alex was here to get his stuff and he went to stab Eilyn but Jace jumped in and he knew Jace's birth name and when he yelled it Jace just shut down and-"
"Where are they now?" Matt asked
"Jace and Eilyn are at the hospital, Alex is with the cops." I told him
"I'll meet you guys there." Matt said hanging up
Did Jace's dad used to do that to him? Is that why he shut down?
