Andrei's POVWe went back to the hospital in comfortable silence . . . Ashton's hand entertwined with mine.
Once in a while I'd feel Ashton's eyes, his furtive glances made the hairs on my pores standing on its ends! I found myself doing the same though . . . but just got myself caught in between glances . . . my face heating up as our gazes clashed!
This was such a new experience for me, yet it didn't take long to get used to Ashton's body language and more of his loving ways . . . one would think we were some delinquent teenagers playing our silly games, each wearing our wide smiles.
Or, perhaps we've become the 'two stoogies' with our silent acts!
OMG! I didn't realize happiness would be this blissful, it only showed a carefree facet of myself, I was so utterly intoxicated with Ashton's boyish antics!
But we sobered up upon entering the hospital grounds, now replete with joy and contentment . . . resuming then to our naturally serious selves!
"Hello! Yes, Davey. Yeah . . . we're coming up. Oh! alright . . . ! Thanks. I really appreciate it. Uh huh . . . we'll be up in a jiffy."
"It's Davey." Ashton said, pocketing his cellphone.
"Uh huh . . . ?"
"He was just checking on us. . . you know." He answered nonchalantly, then gave me a wink!
Oh, Davey! I grumbled to myself.
"Shall we?" My newfound boyfriend asked, ever the complete gentleman . . . as he extended his arm.
"Hmm . . . !!!" I just can't stay annoyed forever with Mr. Sterling!
I took his hand instead! Ashton only smiled, holding my hand back, feeling his tender love merely with the warmth of his touch . . . never letting go of it until we were outside Sabbi's room.
"I got to ask this one favor, Princess before getting inside . . . !" He softly said, his hands now on my shoulders and slowly propelled me towards him.
"Okay . . . !" I said. Though I couldn't describe the feeling that something was amiss, I just can't figure out what it was.
"Since I don't have something for a blindfold . . . umm, I guess, both my hands would suffice, okay???"
"Alright!" I answered in a small voice.
"Will you close your eyes, Princess?" He smiled, but I detected a slight quiver on his lower lip.
Just a very teeny quiver fueled the feeling of unease I found hard to ignore!
"What's that for?" I questioned him, now quite apprehensive!
"It's a surprise . . . I suppose!" He answered me, poker faced.
Hmm. So this was what Davey's call was all about.
"I don't like it. I think . . . I hate this surprise!"
"This one is something you would like, I believe! Trust me!"
"Ohhh . . . . ! Should I?" I looked up at the handsome man in front of me, raising an eyebrow at him.
"I promise! And mind you, this one is an exception! Though I hate making promises for I haven't done it in quite a very long time! I'm doing it, this once . . . !" At that, he gave me an unabashed smile.
"Hmm . . . ! Well, I really don't know! However, I shall grant you this one exemption!"
"Thanks, Princess! I assure you . . . you will never, ever, regret it!"
