Start from the beginning

Live a really weird thing. One moment you love it, the next you hate it. You never know what's around the corner, which is why people should start to live life without any regrets and begin to take more risks.

Pulling up at the Collin mansion, I knew there was one risk I had to take. Either telling Carter how I feel or just moving on and regretting it.

"Aunt Soph," Jacob yells running up to me as I step out of my car.

I instantly smile, "hey little guy."

"I'm not little," he grumbled as I picked him up. I let out a laugh and put him back down and he began to walk beside me as we walked inside. I sent a small smile to John who was walking out, talking on the phone.

"Sophia, long time no see." A voice calls. Looking towards the staircase I see Paul walking down. He pulls me into a big hug which I return.

"I swear, you're so difficult," Melissa screams walking out the living room looking frustrated with Alex behind her.

"Sophia," Alex gives me a nod and falls behind a fast walking Melissa.

"Melissa please." He grabs her arm out she pulls it out of his grip. Turning around to face him with tears streaming down her face.

"Shut up Alex. I don't want to hear it." She says. I look at Paul and we both share an awkward look.

Looking around for Jacob I realise he's walked off. I quickly make way for the kitchen with Paul behind me. Walking into the kitchen, I stop.

Emily's sitting on Carter's lap, while he feeds her. They're both laughing and smiling. Something flutters in my stomach, an unpleasant feeling has settled in. I don't want to be in a room anywhere with these two like that, because my heart just can't take it.

I turn around and begin to walk out before Harper's voice stops me. "Sophia, I made cookies come to to to try some."

I turn around and plant a fake smile on my face. I walk towards her to see a batch of chocolate chip cookies sitting on the countertop.

"I'll pass," I say knowing very well that Harper is rubbish at baking and cooking. I take a seat on the chair which is opposite Carter and Emily.

"Aunt Soph," Jacobs sweet voice fills my ears. He runs into the kitchen.

"No running Jacob," Harper says and Jacob stops running and begins to walk very fast towards me. I let out a laugh at his face, he looks a little constipated.

"Yes, Jacob?" I ask.

"Look at my new car, daddy bought it for me." He shows me a red car.

"That's a gorgeous car," I say nodding my head

"But I like your car better." He smiles at me.

"One day, when your bigger, I'll let you drive my car," I whisper in his ear.

He lets out a shriek and begins jumping up and down. "Really?"

"Yes really." I giggle at his excited face.

"Your the best aunt ever." He yells and wraps his little arms around him.

"They're keeping the baby," Harper whispers in my ear as we stand outside. Jacob and the other younger boys are all having a water fight. They were playing football before but they're now playing with water.

"I don't care." Lie.

"Oh, who are you trying to kid Sophia. We both know you care." She shoves my shoulder a bit. My eyes flicker to Carter who's in the pool with the other guys. Emily's sitting outside the pool wearing a very revealing red bikini, they both are talking endlessly.

Carter rests his hand on her inner thigh and smiles at something she says. My heart breaks, even more, when he places a hand on her stomach and she covers it with hers.

"Sophia," Harper breaks me out of my little trance. I wipe the small tear that fell out my eye.

"I'm fine," I say and turn and walk inside.

Harper's POV:

A tear rolls down Sophia's face as she stares at Carter and Emily. "Sophia," I say breaking her out of her little trance. She wipes the tear that fell.

"I'm fine," she says and turns, walking inside.

I look at my brother in the pool and shake my head. She's hurting and he doesn't even realise it.

"What's up?" Jake asks wrapping an arm around my shoulders pulling me into his chest. I wrap my arms around him and bury my face in his neck.

"I hate my brother," I whisper.

"Which one?" He asks.

"Which one do you think?" I scoff and in wrap my arms from him.

"My sister always falls for the wrong guys." Jake shakes his head looking at Carter.

"She-" he's cut off from the loud bang inside which caught everyone's attention.

"Stay here," Jake says when we hear a loud scream from Sophia. Get all the boys towards the shed and make sure they stay behind it.

"No, stay here," Carter warns grabbing my wrist and stopping me from walking inside when I hear another scream from her.

Carter runs inside with Alex, Danny and Caden. Sophia never screams, unless she is in trouble or a situation she can't get out of.
