My distant friend

It's a tough life sometimes. Work and family stress us every day as  it's part of the daily grind. You wake up tired and want to roll back into bed.
But you push through the day instead

You carry the weight of the world on your shoulders and galaxies in your eyes.
You wonder if the gray clouds will ever become a clear sky

You continue and even when you think you're failing, you're doing your best.
You venture forward through life wounded, but strong enough to finish the quest.

You may feel like depression is stuck to you like a leech
In the furthest corners of your mind where not even some rest can reach.

But the bad times do not last forever and you are not alone
To be your candle in the night, is the mission I own

I know we're miles away and I wish I could hold you beside me
To wash away your tears and stop this catastrophe

My touch can't be there but my words are always with you
And my words say things won't always be so blue

We can't control everything and sometimes we're sad
I know its horrible and I know it feels bad

Remember you are loved and you are amazing
I'm not just saying that these words aren't embellishing

I care about you deeply and I know life has been rough
Even if you think you're not, surviving under such stress shows that you're really tough

You will find the energy to eat
And one day you'll realize this darkness can be beat

Until then just keep moving forward no matter how fast or slow
Keep living your life and doing your best even if you feel really low

You're my friend and I want your mind to be at peace like a clear sky
The only blue I want in you is in those pretty eyes
