Fables of the Heart

Mirror mirror on the wall
When did my life begin to fall?
Down this rabbit hole I go
God, Are you enjoying the show?
I didnt believe in fables
My heart was already unstable
I didnt want our love to be tragic
So beautiful so pure, baby you had to be made by magic

I didnt need to sleep to dream
You were perfect, beautiful, my queen
But you broke my heart and reality became a nightmare
I knew it was too good to be true I was aware
Even though this love was so rare
You called me perfect you're Prince charming
Later you was afraid of my love was it disarming?

Your demons they feared me
They knew I'd set you free
So they fought to keep you under control
And you followed like a puppet you fulfilled your role
You bit the poison apple of lies
Making you numb to the love inside
Why can't we solve this with a kiss?
Wake you up, bring us back to bliss?
We just wanted a fairy tale
Our love was never supposed to fail
Love like ours has to be a fable
So much love in two hearts is unstable

I pray in the future we can look to our past
And joke about how we belive the silence would last
But you're not coming back in my life And the pain punctures my heart like a sharp knife

A rose locked behind glass without a key
Rose petals destined to fall when I feel apathy
Two years this rose has live
Not a single petal has wilted or give.
Beauty and the beast was our hearts
So different yet couldn't be torn apart
From our differences we learned what lies beneath our hearts.

When they ask me why do you belive fairy tales are sad
I'll tell them once upon a time when I was crazy in love, crazy, insane, mad
I fell for a girl with heaven in her eyes
A smile brighter then any light in the skies
That I stopped believing that fairy tails were true
When my heart lost you
