About 5 minutes later, we pulled into Carson's driveway and Eric starting attacking the car horn. "Eric!" I shouted, slapping his hand away from the horn. "Give it a rest! If you're that impatient then get your lazy butt out of the car and go get him!" "No need, Princess, he's out." My brother smirked as he pointed to the his friend. I turned to look where he was pointing and was in a bit of a trance. The way his dark brown hair was perfectly styled in a loose quiff and his eyes sparkled.

"Ari, can you move to the back so Carson can sit up here?" Eric asked me as Carson got closer to the car. "Sure." I mumbled, snapping out of my trance. I unbuckled my seatbelt, opened the door and stepped out. I was about to open the door to the back when I heard a voice. "Hey Ariel! What's up?" Carson asked me, followed by his breath taking smile. "Nothing much, just following orders." I giggled. Carson chuckled and said something under his breath that I didn't quite catch and then got in the passenger seat beside my brother. I got in behind him and Eric drove us all to school.

After 10 minutes I finally saw the school come into view. "So Ariel, if I'm taking Carson, Jesse and Alex home, there won't be room for you and Clarissa in the car." Eric said when we pulled in. "Oh. Okay we can just walk or take the bus then." I said after a second. Once the car came to a stop I said goodbye to Carson and Eric and made my way to the school, while they went over to where the popular group was hanging out.

"Ari!" I heard my best friend call out as I was walking to my locker. "Hey Rissy what's up?" I asked as she got closer. "Not much." She began. "Let's go we have to get to class!" She added on, dragging me to our first class.

When we stepped into English, unsurprisingly we were the first ones there. It's not like I'm a nerd...it's just that school is very important to me. I want to do well and Clarissa is the same. That's why we're here early. So we're never late.

We talked for a couple of minutes and the rest of the class slowly started coming in. Our teacher, Mr. Humfrey came in in the midst of it and in no time the bell had rung.

"Good morning everyone." Mr. Humfrey began like he always did. "Today we are going to continue the lesson on essay writing." I mentally groaned. I think we have been learning how to write an essay for ten years already! Oh well. I grabbed my pen and began making notes on what Mr. Humfrey was saying.

The rest of the day went on as usual and when the final bell rang I already had Clarissa by my side. "So my brother can't drive us because Jesse, Alex and Carson are coming over too so we can either walk or take the bus." I explained.

"Let's take the bus. We'll get there sooner." She said sighing. "Okay. Let's go then." I told her as we linked arms headed towards the bus loop.

When the bus stopped at my stop, Clarissa and I thanked the driver and got off.

"So who did you say was coming?" Clarissa asked. "Jesse, Carson and Alex." I replied. "So there's an even number." Clarissa said with a smirk. I nodded but I was confused. "Chicken fight." She said with a competitive look on her face. The boys were going down.

"Hi Mom!" I yelled through the house once Clarissa and I were inside. "Hi honey! Hi Clarissa, how are you?" My mother asked as she entered the front hall. "I'm good and you Mrs. Waters?" Clarissa asked politely. "I'm wonderful. The boys are already in the pool so you guys can head up to Ari's room and change and then head down there." My mom told us. "Great! Thanks mom." I said hugging her.

We ran up to my room and Clarissa grabbed her swim suit out of her bag. I went to my dresser and pulled out one of my own and we changed before quickly applying sunscreen and running to my backyard.

"CANONBALL!" Clarissa shouted as we ran and jumped into the pool. "God you guys are brave!" Alex said in awe. "What do you mean brave? The water isn't that cold!" Jesse argued. "Yes it is!" Alex yelled back. "They're not brave, dude, you're just a wimp." My brother explained, getting a splash of water in the face from Alex.

"Hey guys!" I said getting their attention. "Want to have a chicken war?" Clarissa asked. A chorus of ya's and sure's arose from the 4 guys and they partnered off. The teams ended up being me and Clarissa, Jesse and Alex and Carson and Eric.

Clarissa got up on my shoulders and Carson and Alex did the same to Eric and Jesse. "Everyone ready?" Eric asked.

"Let's go." Clarissa said confidently. And then the battle began.
