Chapter 14:

Mason sat there for a minute looking at the floor and then looked up at me with sadness in his eyes.

“You should probably go.” He said in a whisper.

“Mason what did he do to you?” I asked very concerned.

“Please, just go.” He said standing up and turning to me.

I stood also and followed him to the front door which he had opened for me.

Stepping outside I stood there on the porch while he locked his front door.

He walked me to his car and got in.

He didn’t open the door for me that time, was he mad at me?

Was he lying, when he said he wasn’t mad at me?

I didn’t know.

Feeling very ashamed of myself I stared out the window the whole ride to my house, watching the raindrops fall from the sky.

Pretty soon he arrived outside my house and parked there.

“Thank you for the dance lessons Mason.” I said looking over at him.

He didn’t say anything, he just sat there staring at nothing, and I unbuckled my seat belt.

“Bye.” I whispered before stepping out of the car.

“I’ll see you tomorrow?” I asked, he still didn’t say anything.

I slammed the car door shut and stepped away from the car and as soon as I did he sped off.

Walking up the pathway by myself to the front door I sighed.

I finally made it to the door.

Knocking on the door gently the door sprung open.

“Hey dad.” I said to my father as he looked me up and down.

I was soaking wet.

“Everything ok?” My mother asked from the living room.

“Yeah mom.” I lied.

Coming around the corner my mother gasped. “Hunny, you’re soaked.” My mother said looking at me.

“Go put some dry clothes on.” My mother added.

I nodded once and slowly walked up the stairs.

Stepping into my room and shutting the door behind me I stripped down, out of my wet clothes and into a pair of shorts and a long tee shirt.
