Chapter 42

“Oh my- god” I said crying.

Mason took the mirror back to wall and hung it back up, and came back over to me and sat down.

“Nadine?” Mason said touching my leg.

“Are you ok?” He asked, looking sad.

“Go away.” I said, covering my face.

“Nadine- I-” He started.

“Please? Just go home.” I begged crying.

“Nadine, you’re still beautiful to me.” He said.

“Get out!” I yelled, crying.

As I laid there I just cried and cried.

I was so embarrassed.

I just wanted to have a brown, paper bag over my head.

This was like the end of my life for me.

I waited for my parents to come in the room.

My mother walked over to me and started crying.

“Oh my god!” My mom said almost falling down.

“I know, I’m hideous.” I said to her as she dug her face in my father’s side.

“I’m just glad you’re alive.” She said, not even saying I wasn’t hideous.

“Can we go home now?” I asked my parents who weren’t even looking at me.

It was either too hard for them to look at me because it made them feel bad for me, or they just couldn’t look at me because they thought I looked like the guy off of goonies. Also that they knew they’d never get their daughter back.

I looked away from them and put my face in my tear soaked pillow.

“Hunny.” My father said shaking me.

“What?” I answered, not looking at them.

“We’ll ask the doctor.”

Just then the doctor came in.

“Ok, so I came to talk to you that your daughter has facial paralysis, on the right half of her face.”

“What happened?” My father asked. “Is this normal?” My mother added.

“Yes, actually it’s very normal, it was a nerve the doctors hit when they were performing the surgery and more than likely she will eventually get the feeling back in her face.” The doc said.

“More than likely?” My father said, looking horrified.

“There’s a possibility she’ll look like this forever?” My mother asked.

“Yes.” The doc said, putting his head down.

“I’m very sorry.” He said before leaving the room.

WoW, They really did think I looked like a monster.

Did I?
