inquiry (noun): an instance of questioning; a search for knowledge

-Harry's Point of View-

"I'm excited that we've all finally been reunited. As much as I'd life to stay and catch up on things, I need to have a word with Luke, here," I proclaimed as all pairs of eyes watched me intently.

I detected Luke tensing in the back of the room. I hoped for his sake that he hadn't messed up or the damn deal would have been off in the blink of an eye. I motioned for the door and we both walked through it, out onto the street. We strolled side by side on the sidewalk, neither of us speaking and keeping the peaceful silence. I watched him intently but he kept his thoughts to himself.

"So Hemmings, tell me. Is our little agreement still on?" I cocked an eyebrow, attempting to read his facial expression. His stony gaze lifted off the concrete ground and fixated on me, I identified one of the emotions present as fury and another as hurt.

"It's on," He specified.

"You know that if I find out you lied to me, no music industry will ever cast a glance at you or your band, whether you're any good or not. I'm sure you'd hate to throw away that unique talent you lads posses," I said with a smirk playing on my lips, knowing I was getting to his core.

Luke was the type of guy who cared about others more than himself, it was a rare quality in this world. If he was looking for a solo career, he wouldn't have taken me seriously. However, since he was in a band, he wouldn't want to let his friends down and become a disappointment. I knew it was a smart tactical move to use that vulnerability to my advantage.

"I know, Styles," He muttered coldly, not meeting my eyes again.

"Jess's a pretty little thing, isn't she?" I pressed. My intention was to get as much our of him as possible.

"I haven't noticed," Luke slouched, shrugging as he answered.

"Don't give me that," I said lowly.

"Fine, she's gorgeous. Satisfied?" By now Luke had stopped walking and was glaring at me, his fists compressed tightly. "Don't worry, Harry, I haven't done shit with your precious little sister."

"Just remember, you're not going to be able to control her life forever, she needs to be independent. And guess what, Styles?" He said in a deep voice.

"Tell me," I spat, irritated that he had the guts to stand up to me.

"I'm going to wait until that day comes, whether you like it or not," Luke snarled.

"You're very determined, Jess must be worth it," I said sardonically.

"We done here?" He probed as he shoved his hands in the back pockets of the jeans he was wearing.

"Yeah, we're done," I said as Luke turned to leave. "For now."

-Luke's Point of View-

Fucking Harry Styles. Did Jess have to be his sister of all people? I was so livid that I was sure smoke would be gushing out of my ears if that were possible. My blood boiled at the mere thought of Harry standing between me and the girl I wanted to be with so desperately. I knew my feelings for her had developed way past the limit of where I could've gotten over them. I was in love with Harry's sister and there was nothing I could've done about that.

I needed to think of a way I could explain to her that we needed to keep what was going on between us a secret from everyone. I was aware if I didn't word it properly she would take it the wrong way, thinking I was embarrassed to show her off as my girl or some bullshit like that.
