“Feeling better?” the agent asked.

“Yes.” Eleanor said with a smile.

“Yes.” I repeated.

We have two agents interviewing us now. It was almost surreal having them interview us all the time trying to figure out everything.

“Were you in a big area?”

“Yes.”

“Were you with others?”

“Yes.”

“How many?”

“A lot.”

“Were you cared for; fed and showered.”

“Poorly, but yes.”

“Were their adults held captive?”

“No, just teens.”

“Are you sure.”

“Yes. They wanted Rogues.”

“Rouges?”

“That’s what they called us: Rogues.”

“Were you called that as well?”

“I was called a Silent Rogue.”

“What does that mean?”

“They said I was a manipulator. I wasn’t a physical, but I was mentally and emotionally rogue.”

“What about you, Eleanor?”

“I stole from a store; cigarettes and liquor.”

“So they had use for your speed?”

“I don’t know how they saw potential in me.”

“What could a manipulator do?”

“I could probably sneak into places and plant bombs.” I said with sarcasm. Does it look like I fucking know?!

“How did they train you?”

“I don’t want to do this anymore.” Eleanor breathed.

I held her hand trying to calm her down.

“Just a few more – “

“No, we’re done.” I said standing up.

“Please – “

“Bye.”

We walked out of the room and headed back to our beds trying to take a few deep breaths. I was feeling my shoulder get achy in the sling and I groaned.

“Shoulder?”

“Yes.”

Eleanor got me onto my bed and helped lay me down. She got me a cup of water and lay in the bed with me.

“We’re leaving in a few days.” Eleanor said.

“Yeah…” I trailed off.

“Scared?”

“Very.”

“Why?”

“What if they find us?”

“They won’t.”

“How do you know?”

“I have a feeling.”

“Do we know the people?”

“No, they’re not related to us at all and we’ve never met them.”
