61. Court Trial (2nd Hearing)

Shayne's POV
We're here again for a second court hearing for Bart Santiago's murder case where sadly Ryder is the main suspect.

"Ladies and gentlemen, my client received a call and a text message before he found the Body of Mr. Santiago and I would like to ask you to verify the said text message," Attorney Tiglao presented it to the Judge

"We would like to request one hour break and we will resume the trial after the break."

They have one hour break to verify the said text message.

According to the police report the gun used to kill the victim is R4A3 pistols na meron din si Mr. Santiago, But they have recover bullets matched with the said pistols on Ryder's compartment and silencer." Lumunok sandali ang ang abogado bago nagpatuloy sa nagsasalita. "Mr. Santiago is a left handed but according to the investigation, the thumb mark found on a pistol is a right thumb mark. Well my client is definitely a right handed but we all knew that's not enough proof. Everyone in the crime scene including the witnesses could be possible as a suspect," tumigil ang abogado sa pagsasalita at dumako ang tingin kay Dwight na kasalukuyan nakasalang bilang witness. "To be able to use the said pistols at ease, the person should use anti safety thumb, the victim is left handed so kailangan niyang gumamit nito. There's a possibility na right handed nga ang bumaril, wala ring anti-thumb safety ang baril pero may bakas ito na nalagyan. Kaya maaring tinaggal iyon matapos gamitin. The fingertips found on the gun is right fingertips pero dahil nga sa bakas ng anti thumb safety, there's a possibility that the shooter is left handed."

"Now Mr. Falcon," tumigil sa pagsasalita ang abogado, he walk a three steps towards Dwight "Meron kaming laruang baril dito maari mo ba itong hawakan at iputok sa harap ko.

"Objection your Honor he is harrasing the witness!" ani ng prosecutor.

"Objection overruled!"

"But your Honor this is a battlefield not a playground and the gun toy is not allowed," the prosecutor continued even though the judge already overruled the objection.

"Order in the court!"

Nagreklamo ng kabilang panig. Pero pumayag ang Judge na magpatuloy na magtanong ang abogado namin.

"Mr. Falcon, maari mo bang hawakan ang laruang baril at sundin ang sinabi 'kong iputok ito sa akin?"

Nag-aalangan na tumingin si Dwight sa abogado nila but the lawyer signals him to just follow. Natahimik ang buong courtroom at ang lahat ay nakatutok sa gagawin ni Dwight. Tumayo siya ay inabot ang baril. Napigilan ang lahat nang kuhain ito ni Dwight na gamit ang kaliwang kamay.

"Objection your honor we cannot consider that as a evidence!" namumula na sa galit ang prosecutor sa kabilang panig. Ang nanay ni Bart ay hindi rin makapaniwala at patuloy sa pag-iyak. Ang abogado namin ay tila naabot ang tagumpay while Ryder's blank expression lighten. Para namang natauhan si Dwight mapagtantong hawak niya ang baril gamit ang kaliwang kamay. His hands was trembling and shaking and he split the gun on his hand that made a loud sound on the room.

"No more question your Honor," ani ni attorney at tinapik nito sa balikat si Ryder nang makabalik sa upuan.

"Sabi ko sa inyo guys lalabas din ang totoo!" she can hear excitement in Victors voice lahat kami ay napangiti sa sinabi niya ngunit bahagya yatang napalakas ang boses niya.

"Order in the court, silence!" Pinalo ng Judge ang gavel. Parang batang nag peace sign naman si Victor sa judge.

"Your honor we would like to ask for a short break," ani prosecutor.

Ginamit namin ang pagkakataon na 'yon para lapitan si Ryder. Nauna si Farrah a sumunod si Dale, sabay na ding lumapit si Victor at Tyrone.

"Shayne," tawag sa akin ni Yana nang 'di pa rin ako kumikilos. Hindi lang kasi ako makapaniwala sa nangyari. Nung unang trial sobrang dehado kami but now the wheel spined and we're quite on top. Taking in all the courage I can, I stood up at lumapit na rin kay Ryder.

"It's too early for a victory," ani Ryder nang makalapit ako sa kanya.

"For now that's enough to provoked the other side but Ryder is right we all know that, that's not enough proof. We have to gather more evidence at mas maganda kung bukod sa inyo, meron pang ibang witness na lalabas," paliwanag ni Atty. Tiglao. "So  I'm asking for your help guys, We need to investigate, we need to dig more further."

"What do you mean Attorney?" hindi napigilang tanong ko.

"We need to find evidence. So, guys please check the CCTV footage near the parking lot a few days after the incident, Ask Bart's friends, classmate acquaintance ...anyone na malapit sa kanya and know his whereabouts."

"Attorney, you're saying we're playing detectives here and investigate secretly?" Tyrone amazed with the idea and he seems excited.

"Exactly!" Attorney answered with a little excitement on his voice.

"Actually I'm already working on it!" Our gazes landed on Dale when he said that. "It's too obvious kung lahat tayo mag-iinvestigate and besides wala akong tiwala kay Victor at Tyrone."

"Ouch!" Victor and Tyrone hold their chest and faked hurts.

"Please Attorney, entrust this one to me.

"Dale is right masyado nga kayong madami kung kayo lahat, and yeah I also distrust Victor, He's too loud baka may makahalata sa kanya and also Tyrone not suits that role.

"Ang hard nila sa'tin Pre?" Victor hissed and pouted like a two year old kid. Yana and Farrah laughed as they teased Victor and Tyrone and for the first time I saw Ryder's expression shifted and smile for a second or two.

Attorney Tiglao smiled "So Dale I trust you, I know you can handle this."

"Thanks Attorney," Dale said and looked at me."Shayne I need your help," Dale said and hold my hand.

The smile on Ryder face faded and his expression shifted in an instant at nahuli kong nakatingin siya sa magkahawak na kamay namin ni Dale. I smiled with the thought. He never change, in his situation nagawa niya pang magselos.

"Victor?" Ryder called Victor, his baritone cold voice echoed in the courtroom. "If Attorney don't trust you, well you know that I trust you a lot."

He looked again our intertwined hands. Victor was silently listening ay him. "Will you please keep an eye on Shayne while I'm not around?"

With that cue Victor came to our way at pinaghiwalay ang kamay namin ni Dale. Pagkatapos ay lumapit siya kay Ryder at minasahe ang balikat nito. " Don't worry I'll make sure na hindi makaka-score si Dale kay Shayne." Victor sat in front of Ryder and smiled "So, it means I will join Dale and Shayne and investigate together with them."

"No!"

"What?!"

"I still don't trust you with that matter."

Lahat tuloy kami ay natawa sa sagot ni Ryder. It's nice to know that no matter how hard the situation is, nakukuha pa rin naming tumawa sa makulit na bagay. Nakakatuwa ding isipin na kumpleto kaming magkakaibigan. Nakakagaan sa pakiramdam. Siguro nga kahit ano kaya mong gawin basta kasama mo ang mga mahal mo sa buhay.

Nagpatuloy ang paglilitis at natapos ito nang walang nasasagutang tanong. Malinaw pa rin na wala kaming sapat na ebidensya. But what Dwight acted earlier, tama ang abogado namin. He's easily provoked and that's our strong weapon. Sana hanggang sa natapos ito magamit namin ang weapon na iyon.
