Ch 15

July 10, 2010

A rough jolt of the wheels colliding with the pavement from the descending plane singled our arrival in Germany. Hamburg, Germany to be exact.

An excited squeal left Adileigh's lips. A smile formed at the corners of my mouth.

The pilot spoke over the speakers. "Willkommen zu deine Hause."

He says, "Welcome home," translated Tom.

"For you guys," I stated.

"It's just as much as a home for you," added Bill.

"No it's not. My home is Ohio. That's where it'll always be."

With the plane at a complete stop, all the boys stood in a natural action to disembark the private plane. Adileigh and I sat for a moment before dismounting the craft into a new world.

Luggage was loaded into a black Audi, which was parked near the landing zone, while an electric blue BMW Series 3, as told from the tagging label near the trunk, opened the back to also be loaded with bags. Endlessly piling on top of each other, the trunks looked as if ready to explode.

I peered across the runway to taken in the sights again of a breathtaking beauty that surrounded the forgiven country. Yet all to be seen was flat land. No city, no noise, nothing.

As I reached the bottom step, Bill and Tom already situated themselves into the black vehicle. Georg and Gustav were pulling away in a streak of blue.

"Come on," two voices echoed in unison.

Running toward the car, Adileigh and I opened both back doors to slide into the awaiting car, laughing as doing so. Even with our entire luggage in the back, some found its way to the front of the car, which was still spacious.

Already the music was blaring and surprisingly the song's vibe was familiar. The lyrics began to move with the beat as I realized it was Coldplay's "Paradise."

"Dreamin’ Para-para- Paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise .  Every time she closed her eyes," our four voices mingled in harmony as mine took the melody.

Before I could notice the scenery of the passing city, the car came to a halt in a long lengthy driveway. The song's words tangled in my head as I replayed the moment over. Though, shaking thoughts from my overfilled head, I slowly opened the car door.

"Scared," Tom asked, although he was obviously joking.

"It's-" I was at a loss of words. Trees secluded the modest house in privacy with a lavish green. The grass shined with mildew from unable to directly see sunlight. Familiarity of humidity disappeared with the new climate, keeping temperatures at bay. "It's gorgeous."
